Who’s ready for some Skyway Grouper action??

Went there a month ago, fished the lights at night, and hammered them. Was catching tons of grouper and snapper, one 21” mangrove snapper, on artificial shrimp. Went back last weekend and only caught 2 small gags. It seemed like the red tide might have cleared it out as there were dead fish everywhere. Or maybe it was an off day. Hopefully you can crush it though!

For everyone following this channel, when they were deconstructing the old Peter, they put a lot of the old mitigation from when they pulled all the old pilings up all out in front of the new pier. There are a lot more Hang-Ups and obstructions now out in front of the old peer and underneath the new pier because of this so be careful. Also, if you're in a boat like Thonny, there is the old Cruise Ship Channel that used to use back in the thirties and forties that is about 50 yards away from the beginning of the approach over the water that runs right underneath the new pier approach that normally holds Good Pompano action

You needed to get a bottle of menhaden milk to mix with your Chum when you are chumming for bait. The milk will disperse all throughout the water column versus the regular oil which will just float to the top

Awesome. That one Jordan got broke off probably a big mango. Hook up with 18 or 20 inches and they dig hard. So much fun. And they have some nasty teeth I'm using 50 mono now. Got broke off too much. Keep bouncing around guys. Thats the best way to find the honey holes. Red tide report: Don't try fishing north of Dunedin up to green key. Last couple weeks it's been slow with the red tide. Dead baits and some mackerel, trout, ect. floating. So far reds and sno are fine. They just not feeling to good. Not eating.
