Would you start looking for spots off the channel or somewhere else in the bay.

Yes there are a bunch off the channels

Do you guys fish inside the channel markers or just outside of them? Are we even aloud to fish inside the channel?
@TampaBayFishingChannel2 жыл бұрын
We fish inside the main channel. You can not physically anchor in the channel but using a spot lock trolling motor you are good

I fish with monofilament more than braid so could you catch grouper on monofilament 20 lb test and when do grouper season open in Tampa

I noticed that you are placing your hooks on the guides and not the guide legs, which can lead to nicks in the guide and breaking lines. Like your channel, great job! Thanks for investing your time in putting together great content.

Thanks for watching. I am not sure about Chad but my hooks always go on the guide legs.

So we had a hard time getting white bait Saturday also, is this spawn time? Noticed a ton of tiny white bait in the net.
@chadkloft88363 жыл бұрын
We didn’t find a lot of white bait on the flats on Friday either, tons of Pinfish were there. We ran out to a marker and we filled both live wells and two buckets with three throws. So it hasn’t left yet

Was in bishop's harbor on friday for the first time in several months and saw alot of dead floaters in there, mostly pinfish and mullet.

Are you anchored or using the electric motor to stay on location? I don’t have an spot on feature. Would I most likely loss an anchor? Thank you for the videos? I ordered chicken take out for you.
@TampaBayFishingChannel3 жыл бұрын
We are using a gps trolling motor. Anchoring works but it is much more difficult.
@jimdrechsel36113 жыл бұрын
@@TampaBayFishingChannel is it at all productive to drift over the spot? Just wondering
@TampaBayFishingChannel3 жыл бұрын
@@jimdrechsel3611 Yes drifting works on a slower tide and is a great way to find new spots.
@jimdrechsel36113 жыл бұрын
@@TampaBayFishingChannel thank you. That’s what I have done in the gulf. Don’t want to lose an anchor. Would you change your rig for drifting?
@Figjamfishslayer3 жыл бұрын
Heres a good knocker rig tip. Works on all sizes of leader Start like your trying a loop knot. Just give a 6 or 7 inch tag. Slip sinker goes onto the tag end first , appropriate size to line and current, then add your hook. Finish loop knot with a 3-5" loop and tie like normal. Works great in the bay and under docks or structures .

How do you guys pick up those fish by the gills without your fingers getting caught in the gill rakers?
@chadkloft88363 жыл бұрын
You have to avoid the gills, grab just under the gill plate. Now it’s easier said than done, my fingers today look like I put them thru a cheese grater from getting overly excited on a fish over the weekend and the rakers got me....

Thanks Todd for answering my question about how long you chum before throwing the net for the first time. It really helps when you effectively answer questions by showing it as part of your video. Thank you. Do you Chum for grouper and snapper after you confirmed there are fish on the spot by catching a couple, or do you start chumming immediately upon setting up on a spot? Thanks again.

Several people have told me that Sun Screen and bait is the reason I'm not catching any fish, yet in this video this guy is rubbing his neck with his hand where he has sun screen so is it true that sun screen from my hand when I touch my bait is the reason I am not catching any fish?

Hey Todd. So I'm wanting to come over and fish on Thursday but not sure what the weather is going to be like. Going to put in from ft. desoto park. Heading over towards the skyway. Looking to fish the channel some too. Just wondering from desoto where I would have to go for a good chance to catch bait. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks. Tight lines....
