On a three day trip into New Mexico with the truck camer I found some awesome boondocking spots. I could not have imagined how beautiful New Mexico is. The Arctic Fox has handled the forestry roads with no complaints. Vacations like these make me wish I could live full time in the camper. Come along for the trip.

Hey Brother, Love your channel. You just traveled out to my backyard to the Rockies. I’m in North Carolina now, but originally from Colorado. My boys and I used to hit the road every weekend with my camper, so your channel brings back those special memories. I’m thinking about buying another camper for the grandkids now because your channel. As a retired Marine I had enough sleeping on the ground. I always told the boys we are camping with all the amenities❤

Strange hearing someone say they've never seen an adobe home. Enjoy.

We do have stucco homes, but its unusual to see new ones. I think it's to expensive compared to other building options. As far as an adobe homes.....first time. I'm not sure if stucco and adobe the same thing either. It just goes to show how big this Country is. I could spend a lifetime exploring the US and not see everything it has. It was really fun exploring someplace new. Thanks for watching.

Kenny, you must have missed that memo "There's Nothing to see in New Mexico". I never realized that myself until someone from Colorado ( who goes often to NM ) said that she would hear this all the time through the years as it seemed to be a well known thing/saying about that state. So I had to check out that theory myself and was through Taos, the bridge over the Rio Grand, Santa Fe, Bandelier National Monument, Carlsbad caverns, various other native ruin sites, Carlsbad to visit the little green men, White Sands NP, Cloudcroft, a little known location of fantastic petroglyphs, Valley of Fires to name off most of what I had a chance to see. My conclusion, they were right, there is nothing to see in NM or so I tell those who think they know but have never been there !. Quite the houses for sure, I took a tour of a very old adobe church with 3 foot thick walls but never had an opportunity to see inside an adobe home.

Hi brother you got a good spot up there near Red River when you where into Cimarron that's a Kit Carson's part of the country. Further north of Cimarron is the Philmont Scout Ranch it was originally owned by Phillips Dodge the oil tycoon and he donated to the Boy Scouts they have their summer jamborees up there. It is a 4x4. To be honest though.....I have never used the 4x4 on anything other then snow and getting stuck way back on mouintain forestry roads during multiple days of rain. It's definitely not a must have. It's super nice to have, but not a must. I would look for a camper first and worry about looking for a 4x4 later. You may find that you don't need the 4x4 and your truck will do just fine. Just get get out there and enjoy life. Thanks for watching.

I'm really enjoying your videos! Boondocking looks like a lot of fun. I'm just learning about it now from you and others on KZbin. I'd love to try it sometime soon. Honestly, my main concern with camping so far off grid would be safety and security. I haven't had a chance to watch all of your videos, so I apologize if you've already addressed this question but how worried are you about your safety on these solo trips, especially when you don't have cell service? I'm concerned that a solo camper out in the middle of nowhere could look like an opportunity for criminals, especially at night. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Take care and keep up the good work!
@KennyOfAllTrades
@KennyOfAllTrades Жыл бұрын
Great question! I haven't really addressed it...There have been a few videos where I came across a sketchy looking campsites. I just move along. I think once you do it, it gets easier. Think of it this way.....most property crimes come from easy opportunity, so don't be an easy target. Crimes of violence usually happen between known subjects, so go by yourself. Lol. I know easier said then done. I'll have to do a video on it. I was in Law Enforcement for years, I worked Patrol and gave classes in situational awareness and active shooter defense. I'm sure my prior training has a lot to do with feeling comfortable in uncomfortable situations. But I've never had a major issue either. In the last 1.5 years of making weekly videos I have only came across three odd ducks, each of those situations I easily removed myself from.
