Great trip, thanks for sharing .Seeing Black Rock campground brings back memories for me. My first ever camping experience was there, ca. 1972 I think. I was just a kid. Back then it was a Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park franchise, which these days are pretty much only located east of the Rockies. The National Park Service acquired it a few years later. There was a playground then with large plastic Yogi The Bear characters looming around it and I think a swimming pool. We were there for either Christmas or New Years. It was really cold but we stayed in a cozy "canned ham" style camper that was available to rent.

Thank you! We entered in through the North Entrance (from Twenty Ninepalms) did the scenic drive through Park Blvd which spit us out at the West Entrance to the town of Joshua Tree
