Well if you don't mind 3rd parties and 4th parties(frequent data breaches) getting ALL your personal information, then I'd say the $300 dollar Meta Quest 3S coming out soon is your best bet for getting into VR cheap. If you want to keep your personal information the cheapest option(not Meta or Pico) afaik is one of HTC Vive's headsets. Probably the $900 Vive XR Elite if you don't have a VR ready PC.
