@@cearnicus oh i agree. It's s fun minigame but not x hundred times. Feels like there maybe should have been a way to encourage the autohack use (like a higher carrying capacity) which might have made it feel more optional

@@geraintthomas4343 I felt the same way about the camera, to be honest. Getting upgrades for photos sounds nice on paper, you have to take So. Many. Photos. That and hacking really break the pacing of the game.

That's assuming she takes enough photos of cameras, bots, and turrets to see that benefit. If you haven't noticed, Ellen's not as frequent with the camera shots as she should be.

NO offense to Ellen but she could have potentially had full research on at least half the enemies(including security)in the game between neptunes bounty(Neptune,Arcadia and Market could have filled Rosie research for later) and fort frolic(Could have filled Bouncer research for Hephaestus)

I never found the bees to be of much use in the first Bioshock. They’re great in Bioshock 2 when defending the harvesting Little Sisters though!

11:01 I was about here in my first playthrough that I realised I could research security cameras and stuff and that it was the only way for the late game hacking minigame to be possible. I basically had to start over at this point. I use to love the video game this minigame was based on back when it was on the BBC B microcomputer.

Bioshock 2 is where I first found the song that became my absolute favorite of all time. And now that it's showing up in 76, I'm absolutely tickled that more people get to hear it. War tunes in general are just the absolute best.

The hacking is very hard near the end game to encourage use of the various tonics to reduce the difficulty plus freezing the machine. So if people invested in those perks, they pay off .

Watching these reminds me of when I completed this back in the 360's heyday. Fun times. The hacking mini-game can jog on, though. That's why I'm playing the second Bioshock instead of the first. Had my fill of the mind-numbing tedium, as Ellen's reactions on these videos showed so many times. Lived those faces, I know how she feels. For Ellen though it seems there's a deeper reason for these videos, but I'm just enjoying watching the gradual descent into minor insanity that is playing Bioshock 1, as a spectator.

She'd been so convinced hacking was designed to become impossible (and wasn't fun in the first place) she never even got the slots to equip them, never mind reconsider her engineering loadout. More ADAM spent on the kill-everyone powers though so who's to say she really made a mistake there?

Also we (or at least I- can't speak for the others) weren't so much upset AT you for missing weapon upgrade stations as upset FOR you as you missed opportunities to make things easier for yourself.

Hope you’re doing well in a few days. I had it in May and it sucks lol. I been enjoying the series 😊 and i have one little tip if you don’t mind unless someone else has said this: the electric gel in the chemical thrower does wonders against the big daddies. And the hacking is more difficult because the hacking tonics help reduce the difficulty of them throughout the game. Hope this helps ❤️

I know this is extremely late game to mention this, but... if you've researched the turrets enough, they're an automatic hack without puzzles. I believe cameras always have the puzzle though.

I didn't. But I genuinely enjoy those kinds of puzzles anyway so even as a teenager (I played it before then but only managed to finish it after playing Infinite), I wasn't frustrated most of the time because I'd save before nearly every safe and HARD difficulty hack and if I got zapped or set off an alarm I didn't want (sometimes I'd set off alarms specifically to get little buzzing buddies), I'd just reload as a puzzle reset. The only hacking mini game I've found that I don't totally enjoy are the ones from Mass Effect. They aren't long enough to warrant me settling into puzzle mode. But they take just enough mental effort that I can't just do them.

Obviously like Ellen as I'm 17 episodes in here, though I am curious if by the end of the playthrough she realizes that she can't do health damage to enemies while they are frozen. Making her life a lot harder with the big daddies than it needs to be haha.

Man, watching someone else play this modern masterpiece of a game really shows you new approaches to things. I didn’t know you could use telekinesis to trip the lightning traps AND I didn’t know you could use telekinesis to pull the mask off of enemies. Also I don’t know why I never thought of just blasting the cameras when I didn’t feel like hacking. Such a simple solution.

There is WAY too much hacking in the game. Though it helps once you have fully researched turrets, cameras, flying bots and the like so you can insta-hack them.

I like using telekinesis to grab the trap bolts and angle the trap where I want it to be. Or just let me through and then I put it back.

I'm starting to feel like Cassandra. Take more photos of the security stuff. More photos in general. And concentrate on hacking tonic slots. The reason hacking is getting hard, is that you don't have the tonics to make it easy. Use electric gel on the big daddies. - When fully upgraded, you can take out an elite Rosie without it taking a single shot, and without having to reload. Your procedure should be: Get up close. Electro bolt, Photo(if not finished), Electric gel until tank runs out. If you can see that it's going to run out before BD goes down, switch to electric buck just before you hit empty. incendiary crossbow bolts are awesome. The upgraded crossbow very rarely runs out of ammo.
