Exploring Oregon’s Owyhee Canyonlands - An Aerial Highlight Reel

To close out the 2020 camping season, my wife and I packed up the truck, grabbed our dog, Gus, and headed out to explore one of Oregon's hidden gems: the Owyhee Canyonlands. We only scratched the surface. We are definitely going back to explore the depths of this vast and mysterious region.

Yeah, Ian! It’s a beautiful region! It used to be a 6-7 hour drive from my four. Now I can get there in about an hour or two. Stoked to have it close by now.

Awesome! Glad you’re stoked on it and thank you for subscribing! The biggest advice I’d have is avoid camping on ridges if there is going to be wind. It can get blustery out there. Also, things are pretty sprawling, so give yourself more time than you think you need to explore.

Is it possible to reach there in sedan ?

Some of these areas maybe, but I don’t recommend it. Many of these places are accessed via rough roads that would be very hard on a sedan and its highway tires. If you have an SUV or a pickup, they are tame, but most of these areas I wouldn’t go to in a sedan.
