Exploring Portugal: Porto, Nazaré & Fatima | Portugal Travel Vlog

We landed in Portugal! We start off the beautiful city of Porto where we take you guys to some places to eat and things to do. We did the famous 6 pontes (bridges) tour down the Douro River along with a Tuk-Tuk tour of the city of Porto. We begin our journey in the north of the country in the beautiful, historic city of Porto. Delicious “bacalhau” and port wine welcomed us as well as the underrated views of the city.
After attending our first Portuguese wedding, we headed south with a quick stop in Nazare to admire the tall sea cliffs and monstrous waves before arriving in Fatima to spend time with family and walk around this cute, religious town not far from Lisbon.

Your dad is from Portugal, the world is so small, or the Portuguese are everywhere. Just curious where did he meet your mother, Portugal, Canada or other place in the world?

They met in Vancouver! Both my parents immigrated to Canada - mom in Vancouver, dad in Toronto. But he moved to the West Coast in his 20s for work opportunities before my parents met. - Lauren

@@LaurenJason Wow, they both found love in a foreign country, that was an adventure traveling back them, no internet, no low cost airlines, probably they travel by ship!

So funny your dad is from Portugal! So are we ☺️ I couldn't understand what you guys ate at the restaurant in Porto! Do you know how it’s spelt? Also, when did you guys go? We’re from Porto so it was interesting to see what you did as a tourist in our city 😊

That’s amazing, if we had known, we would’ve tried to see if you were in Porto to meet up! We dined at Terreiro and had their bacalhau and hake fish, as well as their signature mix of sausages, lamb and clams I believe! We think it was their Terreiro misto ☺️

@@LaurenJason we live in London so we probably wouldn't have been there! Aaah, okay, not very typical Portuguese dishes, then! I now understand what you guys said 😆 Also, just wanted to say, not sure if it's because Lauren felt a connection with Portugal but she seemed more confident on camera in this video than in any other video!

@@travelmurmur I definitely said “hake” wrong at first thinking it was a Japanese fish 😅 I think the bacalhau was fairly Portuguese just as it was quite similar to how my aunt makes it but I can’t say for sure! That’s so sweet of you to say 🥹 I think it just takes more practice for me and is dependent on my mood for sure, but thank you for saying that! 🙏

@@LaurenJason I had to Google what hake was so don't worry 🤣 yeah, bacalhau is definitely typical but not the way you had it. But it's fine as long as you enjoyed the food! Porto has the best food. Sad you didn't try francesinha! And you're welcome, I know how that feels :)
