Nice video, thanks for sharing ! We went there Sunday (December 19, 2021) but sadly the gate was locked. The nice Ranger Lady told us they lock the gate after some rain to avoid people getting stuck in the mud, she also told me to consult the Cleveland's Forest website to check when the gates are open. Great video. I know the area well. Did you start off of the pavement at the bottom of Pamo Rd? I haven't been lucky enough to have the gate open. Always mountain biked the loop.

It's open now. Go to Ramona make a left on Magnolia. Magnolia turns into a dirt road that's old Black Mountain road. Follow that road for about 7 miles. You'll see a bridge is a dirt road goes off to the right that goes to Sutherland dam. Dispatched a little bridge there is A-sharp left goes down into the ravine. The white swing gate is open right now. If you get to the bottom and there's a stream that goes across the road your in the right place. It's a beautiful drive please take a 4 wheel drive

Off old black mountain road. Just passed the right turn for Sutherland dam, there's a left turn that drops down into the ravine. That little stream he shows is the ONLY place to turn around to turn around until you get to the top and start to go down to the left to pamo valley. Good luck
