I'm from Romania, had plans to move to the Uk, but decided to stay and be productive here. I'm happy with my decision and just because I don.t like in luxury, does not mean I feel poor. To be be rich.. is to love and be loved.

I really want to thank you for this informed and documented discussion re Romania. The younger generations being able to travel or study abroad have helped changing the way we Romanians would like to live and work .I think it is important that being able to visit other countries have made most Romanians realize that we are as smart, as good, as educated -sometimes perhaps more than others and this has helped decrease our "inferiority" complex . I lived overseas for 20 years but at the end I decided to return and it has been the best decision ever. Thank you again

i just came back from a trip to Romania and my Bolt Driver was actually a Policeman who told me they have very low sallary needing to do the Bolt driver to feed his family.maybe people i've spoken to tell me life is getting harder. but this is global even here in Australia inflation is effecting everyone.

Well a pokiceman starts on about €1050 + benefits after tax which is supposedly well above average and it increases to about 1200 within the first few years yet if the missus ain't working sounds about right to do bolt as that's not enough to comfortably look after a family assuming he owns his house like most Romanians so has no rent due.

yes some police have low salaries, but those are the "local police" they do not have a police academy diploma, just a 6-month crash course, most of them just finished high school, and they are not employed by the Ministry of Interior like the regular police, they are employed by the city council, and if they are in a smaller city, then they will get a low salary. but their "work" is also reflected in their salary.

Romania has never been the poorest country in Europe. Bulgaria, Albania, and after the disbanding of the USSR, Ukraine, Moldova, Georgia, have always been under, in terms of GDP. Like you said, we are now in top 15 in Europe. Only thing is the GDP is generated by a few well developed areas, while some areas remained underdeveloped.

Hello how long is a passport ready at the Romania embassy for student visa, and if you are late for classes can that affect your chance of getting a visa when you are under MFA scholarship

It's takes a month or more. It can if your too late or It's time for exam already. But the chance of a visa refusal is slim

the proof of funds is your employment contract, by law the company you work for is obligated to pay a salary that the government deems to be a living salary. so if you get your work visa, and a work contract you are all good.

​@@CindysReality6039Yes you are correct, but it also depends on your skill, and your job, because for example you can have a call center job, or a sales job where you can make bonuses, when i was a student i would double my salary from bonuses alone, also if you work in the hospitality industry tipping is common here, so for example in a bar or hotel you can easily double your salary. for your holiday example, if you go to the seaside and get a job at a bar/restaurant you can easily make 1500-2000 Euro per month from tips alone + salary + free accommodation and food. yes it will be hard work, but at the end of summer, you will have quite a decent egg to crack when you need to.

They are not saying our country is poor and even if they would have it was not in any way offensive . They actually highlighted all the benefits for which somebody could make the move to Romania.
