When in Thailand, I'm always wearing these convertible cargo pants that you can transform into bermudas and back in a few seconds. Very handy when you want to visit temples, not only sky bars 😁

I stayed at Lebua in 2010 (pre Hangover movie). The room came with 2 free drink vouchers. Whilst up at the Sky Bar I met a lovely Thai couple who insisted on buying me drinks… so I had an amazing time at that super classy spot! I’ll never return as i can’t outdo that memory!

The same thing happened to me when visiting Bangkok in 2018: I tried to visit the Vimanmek Mansion, it took me about 30 minutes of walking along these very long boulevards, being the only pedestrian there and surrounded by cars, before I could find something that would like an entrance to it; and I was told by a security guard that it was closed. Too bad!

Last time I was in Bangkok was in 2019. Visited the rooftop bar of Banngkok Marriott Hotel Suhkumvit and it was great one of the highlights of my stay that trip. Also the drinks and food was reasanoble I feel.

The beer is 90 baht with 7% vat excluded. Totally 1 beer is 90 baht x 7% vat equals 96.3 baht x 2 = 192.6 baht round up 193 in total

You can rent pants on the first floor of the building. If I remember right the drinks are like 2000 baht each.

Avoid Lebua and Banyan tree. I recommend Cielo, Centara, T-shuga. Octave , Bamboo bar and speakeasy at Muse Hotel.

Hi Chris, if one day you consider correct your #16, why? I've been on Sky Bar just a week ago, following your recommendation. In my personal opinion it is a tourist scam. It is unfortunate that you are recommending it here in such a nice channel with so many great tips and videos. On arrival, we got excorted to several lower level bars and asked to consume. The beer that you got is no longer part of the menu, only 1k+ Bat cocktails. We managed to go directly to the 64th level and get the view we were looking for, but still, the prices are unreasonable for Bangkok even if for a luxurious treat. Regards.

I went there in 2019 and I purposely left my big backpack at the airport to go for a walk. I was asked to leave my small backpack on the ground floor but I refused because there was my camera and my papers and lots of other things. So they refused to let me go up. I made the trip from the airport on purpose and I was ready to pay dearly (I know the prices of drinks) and I was refused entry! I'm really mad at them and I would never go to them! Ps: I love your videos Chris! I'm arriving very soon in the region... Is there a meeting planned soon? I would love to attend and meet you but it would be nice to know well in advance so that I can arrange to be there ;)

Enjoyed this one. I went to seven Bangkok rooftop bars in June - nine if you count Mahanakhon and Baiyoke 2. I did the ones at State Tower a few times back in 2000s. To me, there are many better. I love Hi-So, Belga, Char, Vanilla Sky and Octave (or Tichuca next door).
