Fantastic video. An Australian show us Chinese parts of our own country where none of us has been to. Good job!

What a journey! I shared your anxiety at the beginning of the trip, but what a reward for your determination! The view of and around the temple is out of this world! Thanks for taking us along!!
The reason that the kid was staring at you all the way is you are probably the first foreigner he ever seen in his life😄

It’s hard to imagine that your Chinese is so good and you also have WeChat payment. With your ability, you can travel around China no problem. China is very safe and every province is different. Especially Xinjiang, Tibet and Guangxi are worth visiting.

6:08 The place you are going is like 50km to the Burma border. Drug traffiking and human trafficking have always been an issue alone that part of the border. Security has to be tight especially on strangers.

Hey bro.Thanks for exploring these peaceful place,showing a different image of China. Popular place doesn’t mean the most worthy place to visit. We also need someone to exhibit some place with splendid landscapes like this. Everything goes well!

Thanks for the comment, I'll do my best to stay off the beaten path!
Envious of what you’re doing mate! I imagined that like you I would be intimidated by the challenge, and unlike you, I would probably “chicken out” and find an excuse to stay in my comfort zone. I’m glad you went and so I can see another beautiful place in China.
In the past, when you enter a county which has a land border, there is a check point. It's pretty much like a pre check. If you could imagine, it used to be a check for people visiting places like Shenzhen as it shares a border with British Hong Kong. Obviously nowadays, for most of the border counties, there is no more checks, but for remote areas, you just experienced one.

Do you watch any Chinese dramas or movies? Your Mandarin is very good.
well done Jake, local buses are always the way to go in western sichuan and yunnan provinces, it's pretty easy once you buy the ticket, finding hostel or 农家乐 is also easy.

China is better, The ancient city of Lijiang in Yunnan Province is very famous. It is home to ethnic minorities, centuries-old ancient cities, mountains and lakes. There are also some foreigners living in the ancient city. They like it very much. If you have the opportunity, you can go there.

Those are border region checks, because it's near Myanmar. In some border areas, even Chinese citizens needs a permit to travel to.

@thejourneyofjake11 ай бұрын
150 per night, not too bad for staying within a scenic zone during Chinese New year
When it comes to kids. Make faces. It willmake you and them happy and relieve discomfort, but it’s China I don’t know you are allowed.

I do try to engage them most of the time, but I'm usually met with a blank stare 😅 I understand it though, I've even found myself staring at other foreigners because we are so few and far between out in these places 😂
