As a young kid in the late 50's and early 60's, our family used to take our boat to Salton Sea, relax on the beach near the beach club, launch the boat, and ski all day. We would come back sunburned and red as lobsters. It was a day we all looked forward to. Now, to see the area abandoned and rotted away is so disheartening. How about doing a segment on the wooden road near the sand dunes going into Imperial Valley? I remember my grandmother telling of traveling on the wooden road back in the early part of the 20th century when her family came to CA. from Texas. I think there is a museum devoted to it .......Russell D.

Another great video guys! I was wondering though. Do you think you guys will ever make to the Spider Pool/Wall and the ruins of the crazy house that silent film star Jack McDermott built? I've been obsessed with it for years... the bad part it's landlocked. Its bordered by a different property on all sides. the actual piece of land is for sale though...Id have to find the listing again for the address but I am sure the street name is Goodview Trail... if you're looking for it I also have the exact coordinates for a pretty cool google earth view of it. *FunFact* David Somerville, the lead singer of the Diamonds, wrote the theme song, "The Unknown Stuntman" for the 1980"s hit The Fall Guy and allowed the pilot and show intro to be filmed in his home in the California hills. Turns out it is still there! (the barn, even the outdoor bathtub) and its located in the same "landlocked" area as the Spider Wall. Dave recently passed and the house was sold. I was snooping on Google Earth and actually located the stairs used to gain entry to the house off Valvista Trail. Guess who his handyman use to be in the 80's? Tom Hanks! Crazy right?!l I couldn't figure out for the life of me how did anybody live there because it appeared to have no visible way to access it. At first, I thought it was one of the leftover buildings from Jack McDermott because it is very close to his still standing donkey trough. But to my surprise, while watching youtube videos, I saw a David Somerville interview. and he took the interviewer right across his yard to the spider wall... what were the odds? Id send you guys the link to the YT video if you guys are interested. Again.... another great video you two, thanks. Sending love and apreciaction all the way from Michigan.

Approx 2 to 2.5 hours. I-10 to hwy 86 at the casinos to hwy 111 to Niland then follow the signs. They show how to get there in the video.
