Way better than a tour guide. Awesome job on relating the history and not making it boring though.

I've watched many other explorers' videos, and I must say your videos stand head & shoulders above most others. Good job. Subscribed.

Fascinating, I’ve never been to California and had no idea this place existed. 👍😊. The old photos were awesome! Great job!

I’m usually not big on military history, but you guys presented this location in a really interesting way and I’d definitely visit the old fort and batteries when in SF area. Awesome work! Thank you for all you do.👍🏼🤘🏼😎

As a child in the cub scouts we visited Fort Point on a tour. A miserably cold and windy place!

This is an amazing video! I’ve been to most of these but never knew anything about them except for that they had big guns 😂

most of the Larger batteries are interconnected by a Tunnel system. some Urban explorers call it the "city" Under the Percdio.

The San Francisco Mint had massive amounts of gold and silver. Which required the Army to create extensive fortifications on the Golden Gate. The fear being France or Britain would invade SF to seize this. The forts were a deterrence.

Funny when I went most people just walked by the too the minute I saw them I got super excited I never knew there were ww2 bunkers on the san francisco coast. Was really cool to see.

Very very cool! I explored two very similar places in my youth (teens & twenties), many many times, on North Head & Mt Victoria in Devonport, Auckland NZ, where I lived at the time. Many similarities, but a much smaller scale. That was in the 70's & 80's. Thanks for the video!

This is pretty cool! I never knew this about San Francisco! Good thing the city didn’t demolish this base and turn it into condominiums.

Sad thing is , they are building Condos on Yerba Buena Island , where it used to have Pill Boxes , and is Home to the SF Coast Guard , and Treasure Island is a former NAVY base . there are still some Relics on Treasure Island.

Did I miss Battery Spencer? I've visited that one. It is in Marin on the northern side of the Golden Gate Straights facing out to sea.

Which interesting about this? When I worked at the army based for 12 years. I saw a lot of stuff it. One of the things you'll see is to Polaris missile. That was built-in marine county in the hills. And I they used to actually activate it and it. It was built-in the ground They were pulled up, it was a missile guided missile. They had several hundreds of them

The music and exploration gave this an oddly Minecraftian feel.

Fascinating. I live in the East Bay but I would be too afraid to leave my car in the parking lot to be vandalized while I went down to see these interesting monuments. So I'll just watch it on your channel

Crossing the Hampton Roads Bridge tunnel in Virginia everyday I pass by a decommissioned artillery battery located on an island just off the coast. The guns are gone but the towers and buildings are still there. Can still see an American flag flying high through the brush. Believe it's called Rip Raps Island.

There's a lot going on at Fort point. Say i'm underground missiles they're not showing it
@Idahoguy101573 жыл бұрын
To the best of my knowledge the only west coast battery ever fired on was Fort Stevenson in Oregon. In June of 1942. A Japanese submarine fired several times at the fort. Grossly inaccurate shots

Pretty soon, the erosion of the doors of our SF bunkers will create big enough holes to slip through and go explore
@markplott48203 жыл бұрын
almost ALL the bunkers are FLODDED , better bring Diving gear.
