@thelikeablerider8800 you even look more comfortable on the tiger, plus you and Andy will be able to hunt out closed roads on your adventure bikes...yeah, maybe a closed road tour could be on the itinerary for this year...haha.

@@thelikeablerider8800 Looking forward to having the old Shaun back on a bike - the XR ruined your ability to ride properly after a certain number of hours in that saddle! :( What's the longest you've been on the Tigger so far? (I presume the signs for a long day in the saddle on this bike are positive? :) )

Your videos do make me want to go out side, get the bike out, fire it up and go for a ride. There's only three problems with that. Firstly, it's wet outside and only 5 degrees, secondly it's 10pm and thirdly, I'm pissed. Great vid Shaun. Love it when you and Andy get together for a ride and make a video. Wish I could come along with you guys.

Nice one Shaun Sauerland is always cool to ride, yes the old Garmin problem, my last one nearly ended up in a field because it pissed me off so much, I think that's in one of my videos with Conny in Weserbergland 😂 the newest Tom Tom's are good or I also use Calimoto a lot

Riding over the Möhnesee bridge reminds me of the first "proper" day of tour - counting the days. Definitely going to sort my satnav out this year.....😂

Great video, lovely area. Me and a buddy have identical Zumo XT's bought within 2 days of each other. No matter how we get the same route on the devices be it by sharing wirelessly or through apps, both devices give us different routing logic a lot of fhe time which is bizarre and very frustrating. We have even sat down side by side and gone through all the settings to make sur they mirror but still get these issues. Great riding around Germany arguing whose satnav is correct! I won't replace it with another Garmin, prob use old phone after upgrade with Sygic maps or Calimoto, etc. I feel your pain.
@thelikeablerider880010 ай бұрын
I've since been out and tried something else. If you follow a "Track" rather than a "route" and go off the reservation you just get a directional arrow on screen, so you can self navigate back to your original Track. If you use a "Route" the garmin will recalculate for you, and that seems to be the problem! I also had the Garmin 590, and on that you could set its base setting to "curvey route" so it would ALWAYS calculate to that. On the XT you don't have that option, you can adjust each route with the amount of curvey roads with the "adventurous roads" option, but its base calculation setting is "fastest route" so if you go too far off your planned route, you end up on the bloody motorway or faster A roads!
@critch.10 ай бұрын
That's interesting about route v track as we have done routes. As a device the Zumo XT is great but I preferred the routing logic of my older Tomtom bike nav which failed with water ingress. Sygic is brilliant on my phone so may switch to that on a second phone. The beauty of phones is you can install whatever bike nav app you want and even use Google maps if you have connectivity. But I would need a second phone as don't want to rely on one device for everything. Happy riding. 👍
@thelikeablerider880010 ай бұрын
Thinking about it, i bet you can probably turn off the "auto recalculation" while using a route! I still rate Garmin highly, can't see me ever getting rid of it.

When you hit a road closure why don't you go to the diversion page and just tell it to avoid the next 0.5km or 1km of road? When I've done that it handles the diversion and gets me back on track quickly. It does depend on available roads of course. 👍

Must admit I'm not fussed about overtaking another biker if they haven't taken an opportunity to overtake and I'm not aware of any etiquette in that regard. The most frustrating is when you have to get past a group that goes as fast as the slowest rider and won't overtake as they don't wish to split the group up. Then it's a question of barging your way through the pack. 😬
@thelikeablerider880010 ай бұрын
Think its find if they show no want to push on, but important not to bully anyone into doing something they're not comfortable with, we all have to ride our our ride👍😜
