What a place! Have you got anywhere like this near you? Any grisly local folk-tales that stick out? 😱

Hi that was supposed to have been The Beans or my family. I'm almost 85% sure the story was bull. I think the Brits hated my great great grand father. I'm almost 100% that's was our land at one time and we were personally at war with the Brits. Because they control history Sawny Bean was born into legend. They probably couldn't kill the man so the took his legacy. I'll tell you know. I'm restoring our legacy now

I'm from Mexico and I've been trying to find out about this legend, I've seen in many vídeos that this isn't the cave, that the actual cave is behind some hills and it's hidden also because the waves come up high and make it hard for people to get there, but also this is the best video I've ever seen so far in this cave you went all the way in there I've never seen someone actually go all they way in, thank you for sharing your adventure!!

Hi Bruno! There are a lot of different opinions, but this is the right cave as marked on the UK OS maps. The other cave in question is called “snibs” cave, named after a Dr who decided to leave the rat race and live in the cave for the rest of his life. I’ll maybe do a video showing the differences, as this seems to be an issue for everyone 😅 Thanks for watching & I’m really glad you like it!

A lot of people know that Sawney Bean and his clan inspired the movie The Hills Have Eyes. However, there is a short book series written by Jack Ketchum that this story inspired. It's his Dead River series. I just finished reading the second (of 3) books last night. Definitely check it out. I will warn you though, the first book is insanely gruesome though, so be warned.

Hi Amy! I'd heard about a book, but never actually looked into it, thanks! I'm no feart of gore/horror though, one of my favourite fictions is Blood Meridian by Cormac McCarthy :)

There was also severe hatred towards the Scots and Sawny was a negative contagion for Scottish men. The British were not good people back then.
