This station has always fascinated me having read the Betjeman story many years ago. The passenger alights from the train, not paying attention as he assumes it's his stop, and then realises he is at South Kentish Town, cannot get out at street level and is stranded. Thanks to everyone who arranged this visit so that we can all see what amazing features remain hidden there. Great job with the filming in those conditions.

I live just around the corner from this gem (41 years). I used to look at the architecture of the building and wonder what tube station it was; Now I know! Well researched and presented! 11/10

Am I jealous of you lot? Of course I am. A born and bred Londoner who loves the tube, 20th century history, trains, you get the idea. Oh how I missed my vocation in life. Thank you, thank you and thank you again for creating and sharing these videos on KZbin, I have many more of your videos to watch, many happy hours and the opportunity to learn. A grateful Londoner.

Seeing this is a real treat! Amazing how even with war-time use, the station itself has barely changed - there's hardly any modern adjustments at all. A shame it will never be a physical Hidden London tour but I can see why. Thank you for this, cannot believe it closed 100 years ago this year - hits home when I realise it was the same year my late grandad was born! Thinking it about it, York Road has never seemed to do tours either (at least in person ones) - and from what I've seen, the platform area there seems to be very similar - i.e. platforms removed with only the walkways remaining and then you step out onto live tracks! Also, ever since watching Secrets of the London Underground I always say how much I want Siddy's job. 😂

Loved this episode, have always been intrigued by this station. As a child my mum read my sisters and I the Betjamin story. Whenever we left High Barnet we eagerly waited to get a glimpse of the dirty tiles and see the gap were the platform used to be. Now our Grandchildren do the same as we have told them the story and they eagerly wait to see who will spot this station first as they travel through it.

It's a function of it being the first visit for the four. The genuine delight of discovery and shock of surprises is a joy to behold. If you're going to only do actual and not zoom vids, please could we have them using this m o. None of you is actor by profession so pretending to be peering round that corner for the first time in your life, despite valiant effort to act, wouldn't capture the spark of humanity which are flying off you all without you being aware, straight through the lens and into we the audience's eager brains. I know that I'm banging on a bit but we are _there_ with you as much as ever we could be. It's stratospherically higher up the spine tingle tower of satisfaction than anything I've seen you do. More to the point, the toppest of top bananas of ANY YT vid. The secret sauce of Uptown top rankin.
