As a veteran in this game it still blows my mind every time i play it. When you see planets like this and you can actually see cities you can visit in realtime on it, its not just a texture. Same if youre standing planetside, you can see ships entering orbit. The visuals and sound from all of that..... still blows my mind. Its incredible.

I just recently came back after a 8 month pause, and the game has improved soo so much over that time... I mean Where else can you fly through an entire solar system without any kind of loading screen? Then go to the planet/moons surface and walk around and pick stuff up? like what

Indeed! I have had 2 proper play sessions since I bought my pledge. Each have been the most epic experiences I've ever had in gaming. I am so pleased to be joining the verse when it seems to gaining traction and progress is being made. The community is mature and very helpful too! Loving it! A bit too much if I'm honest, completely lost track of time last night and ended up going to bed far too late only to continue the possibilities of my play session in my dreams.. wonderful. Even the sometimes awful bugs do not detract from this beauty enough to keep me away.

And we are getting so close to having Physicalised Cargo, NPC Planetary Navigation, and Quanta, which will finish the core pillars of gameplay, and then the long awaited content will finally flow. Still a few patches away, but closer and more certain than ever before

@@panfull6542 Gen 12 is the new renderer. It will give better performance. It should be implemented in 3.17 but there’s still some additional work for transparent geometry that needs to be done so it's using both renderers at the moment. Once that's done they'll start to implement their Vulkan work which should give a noticeable performance increase. Vulkan will also allow them to do VR. One of the developers said he's starting on VR once Vulkan is implemented even if he has to do it on his own time. It's coming. Also it means graphics will improve and they can do stuff like Ray tracing too.

We definitely need more exploration episodes like this! For some reason I enjoyed watching this much more than with all the mission content :D Edit: Btw. the actual "Progression" in Star Citizen will mostly be based around reputation and what you're going to unlock with it like different kinds of missions or ships. For example. you won't be able to just buy the military version of some ship just because you got the money. You need to have a reputation that'll make these factions that you're buying it from trust you. Of course that wouldn't apply to most civilian ships. Those you probably find in the nearest Space-Walmart. So having money is just one thing, reputation will be the other big way to progress. Might even be more important than cash in the end. And on the topic of something being meta: That's exactly what CIG want's to avoid. There won't be the BEST weapon or the BEST ship that someone could have. They will (and already do) differ enough from each other to make them better in different use cases. Just the example of people always arguing if the Gladius or Arrow is better. IMO there is no better there. Arrow is for people with amazing reflexes and evading skills and Gladius will be more of a head on ship as it has slightly better armor/shields. The different of these ships is subtle but the Pilot will make it work in the end. People also like to bring up the 400i being useless. That's another thing, it's useless in the usecases they expect it to use it. But in the end the 400i is nothing more than a luxury space-camper for some light exploration/sightseeing if you want a really comfy experience with your friends. Ships are not always designed to be better in everything than others. Niche ships exist just as much. And that's what I love about the game.

Vtol is a thing, but only some ships have VTOL thrusters. Most misc ships have them, as well as the cutty black and more, and when you activate vtol mode the Jets will pivot from aiming behind your ship to pointing below. It makes flying around on planets much more stable at the expense of Max speed.

I play since Squdron 42 had a massive PR phase and their Demo was playable onboard a Javelin, I guess it was a Javelin. Where You get instructed by Luke Skywalker. And this game still blows my mind, things I discover to do while playing with others who are new and dare to just try out. Even if some updates seem small or incomplete in terms of fulfillment of their Roadmap in the Release View. It's also sharing the experience, I will never grow tired of seeing a sunrise from space, blasting over the landscape with my dragonfly, nox or a cyclone, or just moving around my ship, hanging out in certain areas and just take in the view, the moment... Sharing all this with seasoned players and new players is something very unique to this game. It allows things to go slow, to enjoy "doing nothing". And that's what I think is really amazing.

Now that I have two accounts in Star Citizen. One is my main, and the alt is for anybody else that wants to play the game, without buying any ships themselves. Putting it simply. On my main account, the first starter package I ever brought was for the Hornet Ghost and that was way back in the beginning. 2014, I believe. So, it's been quite awhile and then just last year when some friends gave me some extra money I decided to get the Cutlass Black Starter Package. Adding that money to my latest pay check was enough to bag that one. Very pleased I was with that purchase as it became my go to ship, for considering a crew of more than one and also sleeping/logging off on. I still loved my Hornet Ghost, but it was only a one seater. As I recall accidently, evacuating from it once during Quantum travel as I thought I was typing in chat, but actually I wasn't.... I needed to press Y and was immediately left behind by my Ship. This was also the first time, I set up a beacon, to be rescued by another flying a Connie. This was just awesome, seeing this large ship pull up in space to collect me and then chase after my other ship. Which needed to be shot down since, it was still going too fast after dropping from QT. Just got to be careful what key you press while piloting a one seater, with no ship interior. Then just a few months earlier, I created a second account for Star Citizen and purchased the Starter Package (Yeah, I have never purchased a ship that was stand alone.) for the 100i. Nice ship it is too. Not quite as big as the Cutlass Black, but very sleek and fast. Strictly for the second player who could then join my games. Yes, I'm that desperate for company in this game. Even though, I do have a beefy looking friends list. They are mainly just people I have chatted to in game in the past or the one that collected me. They are not in game most of the time. Now, the thing is that I gave my main account the name Starseeker, and I'm really sick of it. (Yes, I have already changed my pilot name once.) and the second account got the better name of Captain MPTH. (They are my initials.). How hard would it be for RSI to swap names on both my accounts. So that my main has the name Captain MPTH, and my alt has the name Starseeker?

17:06 It most definitely is in the game. But vow important it is to use varies from ship to ship. Some will literally fall down towards the surface even when you thrust 100% up into the sky without VTOL when you're facing towards the horizon. For others it's mainly a way to get a little bit better gas milage in atmosphere and slightly better control of your ship, for instance to help you slow down when landing etc.

Some basic things they should add for continuity sake is the ability to launch drones that gives you the ability to view your ship in a virtual 3D 3rd person mode. So this would "explain why" you can see 3rd person out your ship. plus they should give you a PDA on your suit so you can always access your ship remotely and give you built in VR/AR headset in your suit. This would allow you to open doors at a press of a button and remote control your ship or use various turrets remotely and at a distance. They should also allow you to give a keycard/remote permissions to crew so your crew can have set permissions so gunner only get gunner permissions while an engineer gets engineer/gunner/whatever permissions and then allow all seats to access all parts of the ship so you can gun/control all aspects of the ship from all seats as long as the owner of the ship gives you the various permissions. This would solve so many issues with running around the ship and controlling permissions of various crew. Thee is also no reason why you must be in the gunner seat or miner seat to control the various parts unless they have various specific controls that can't be accessed remotely like the pilot might have to be in pilot seat because its the only seat with a joystick/flightstick.

Talking about remote controlling your ship, I’d be happy with just remote opening my Carrack’s hanger for my M50 or open the cargo door as I approach the ship on a rover.

What you also have to remind yourself occasionally is that the game does all of this without loading screens. As far as mission content, the persistent universe was never supposed to be a mission/story driven play-space. It's intended to be player driven. Just creating the environments eats up the majority of development time. As an example, an entire development studio is tasked only with creating the Sol system. You can imagine the level of development just Earth will require. Squadron 42 is the story based game, and they've shifted their writers to concentrate on completing it instead of creating new, more detailed mission for the PU. This is definitely a very long term project.

Totally made it 'This Far' in the video... I get stuck watching others play apparently, lol. Guess it's just safer. I'm returning to the game too and have no idea what I'm doing most of the time. Nice to see someone else with the same issues, hahaha. The "Ski Ship" is sure to catch on!!

yeah eventually they will just leave it to players to discover everything and the patch notes will just read "new system added" in the patch notes. can't wait for that day

Last I heard, it was actually part of the "info runner" role, and discovering a jump point doesn't mean you _have_ to share that information. Keep this information for yourself if that profits you better.

@@cabritsanscorgaming Agree. It is just a matter of time before other explorers find that information, so there is motivation for the explorer who finds it to start selling that information to others.

Here's the thing, you don't want to release too much stuff right now when they are still developing the engine and tech, because it is just more stuff you have to redo to bring up to the new tech. Like look how much the existing ships and planets and stuff has changed over the years, the whole graphics has had a massive overhaul.

The one thing I would do a critique in this game is that all of those planets looks like earth... see a video of Patagonia, Argentina, you will see much more variety in one country..., thats what I love from No mans sky... planets feel alien, from flaura to fauna, from empty planets to full of life, amazing game anyway.., Starfield? They should just kept with elder scrolls, mostly now with microsoft elder scrolls 6 surely its going to be a mobile game filled with microtransactions, what a shame...

5:20 No, it's the Mercury Star-runner that is so Millennium-Falcon. It's also got above and below turrets, room to smuggle stuff (A secret passageway) A chessboard. Sleeping quarters. and it's asymmetrical. A lot like the Falcon, without looking exactly like it. As for it's being the fastest ship, I'm not so sure.
