Finally, actually good audio quality. In the past I used .mp4 to export in Davinci resolve, but his time around I'm using .mov which supports WAYYYYY higher bitrates. But because apparently at least 1 thing has to go wrong per video I make, I accidentally made the video in 24 fps instead of 30 without realizing :))))))))))))) also I swear to god I did not go out of my way to make it 8 minutes on purpose just so I can get mid-rolls. I turned them off for this video because I feel like an ass for it ending up being only 8 minutes.

Second comment deleted too :( I dunno why, I didn't even post a link in that one. Could you please take the freecam up and get a picture of the landmass outside of the playable area then post it in a video or on red it? I've seen the one from BotW but I know the out of bounds area changed a lot between games. I have neither the tools not skills to get the picture for myself but would greatly appreciate it as I'm trying to make a map of the full continent with all mentioned lands that aren't in parallel dimensions. Video is great and earned you a sub in the first minute.

I absolutely agree. I originally was going to have a segment in this video where I would theorize/explain why they didn't include any serious underwater mechanics and you're pretty much spot on with what I was going to say. I didn't really make that segment because I felt it was unnecessary

@@MiahTRTI’d been thinking how the next game would take place on an archipelago, with these underwater mechanics. But it also involves a complex and potentially quite computationally demanding simulation of water physics. Having it dynamic flow over terrain and fill in basins, having it dynamically create waves based on wind and weather, no scripted events, all dynamic I’ve been wondering if there is any possible way to make this in a way that it could actually run on the switch or its successor and not blow up.

The water hills that sit just under the surface of the tarrey town plains are a remnant of BotW, where puddles form from rain, which allowed you to use cryonis in more inland areas, like for lifting destroyed Guardians to get loot. The way the puddles "form" is by getting the water layer to lift slightly so it's above the land layer.

I have a guess on the gloomy half circles below the coliseums. Gloom makes a subtle sound when you walk near it, and I bet these domes help provide spooky ambiance for the coliseums with this sound, without the structures themselves needing to be covered in gloom (which might visually give away the surprise that something dangerous is lurking there).

all of the weird water spikes that seem to stop just short of the surface are for rainy weather. @KairuHakubi7 ай бұрын
the map is kind of amazing, it's obviously autogenerated to save them time, and interpolates in the same way Minecraft's maps do.. so if you see a tiny tiny pink speck, you can be sure there's a tiny blob of miasma there.. seems odd they would put another layer under the lava to hide that it's transparent, instead of just.. not making it transparent. I imagine it has more to do with the funky effect of the color shifting, with the black being sorta below.

I thought that I had somehow gotten some missing textures, do you have any words on how the purple thing works?
@MiahTRT9 ай бұрын
So basically, the color of the environmental lighting changes based on what is above the camera itself, not what’s above Link himself (which I realized after making this video) Some games will default to using a bright purple texture on objects when a texture is missing, which makes it easy to spot any missing textures during development and playtesting. I haven’t seen this used in TOTK at all. Perhaps you DID have some missing textures? I’m not sure.
