I live on the island, and I really can't believe how Priory has deteriorated in what feels like a short period of time. Hoping the main building will not be lost, as has much provenance. 🌷

Sharrow bay hotel just outside pooley bridge and glennridding Cumbria lake district, closed in the covid lockdown, it's been taken over in the last few months. It was a lovely hotel that looks out over the lake

I had seen this on Ben's Channel and I had said something to him on the lines of I'm pretty sure the bugs that were in the window are fruit flies. I'm not sure what they're called in the UK but in Canada that's what they're called. They bite and they hurt. But thank you again for the exploration. I enjoy you guys very much. Thank you. And you know that there is paranormal activity that does happen during the day as well right lol😂😂

Btw, the gun safe was most likely to keep handy a few rifles in case of wild animals as it is in a slightly remote setting. If guess they would also supply a safe if any guests would come for a hunting weekend? You wouldn't want guests leaving guns in their rooms. There were probably other gun safes there that have been removed & usable today.

The bugs, according to Google Lens via Wikipedia Hypogastrura nivicola is a species of dark blue springtail. Its English name in the United States is snow flea, but there are also additional insects called by that name. They are often seen jumping about on the surface of snow on a warm winter's day in North America.

It closed in 2016, nothing to do with covid. Also, i dont know when you went, but you are lucky you didn't get arrested. The place has been plagued with people breaking in.

Isn't it odd that covid closed the place yet it's so deteriorated already? I'm guessing it was failing financially & unable to finance the proper upkeep, even when it was running as a business. Then add closing due to covid; you've got a lot of money needed just to open under normal conditions. However, because they let things slide for a number of years before in regular maintenance/ upkeep it's become this catastrophe. 😢

Theres lots ot hotels like this on the island. One next to the sandown zoo and a huge one on the front in Sandown. The priory owners applied for planning to build lodges etc. Problems with opposition from locals.
