Is it possible to make the calculator simplify expressions? For example 2x+5x should yield 7x. I have the CX II-T, not the CAS. Thanks.

I keep trying to use the factor feature and I keep getting a "error: Variable is not define" message. I've tried everything.

Are you using the TI-Nspire CX II CAS? The error message you describe is generated on TI-Nspire CX II non-CAS devices. Never fear however, we are producing a getting started series for the non-CAS version. Here is a sample from this new series: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pavGZJuIg6-GpNU

@@nvanarchy Simplifying logarithmic expressions often requires domain constraints, for example: log(ab) does not actually equal log(a)+log(b) unless a>0 and b>0. Similarly log(a^2) doesn't equal 2log(a) unless a>0 . Also, the term 'simplify' is somewhat contextual, which is simpler log(a)+log(b) or log(ab)? Let us know what you are trying to do with your TI-Nspire CX II CAS, perhaps we can make a video for you.

Why when i go to find solve command it does not show

Are you using TI-Nspire CX CAS or TI-Nspire CX, the latter is non-cas and only has the numerical solve option not the algebraic option.
