I've played MC since 2011/2012, and the Warden is the scariest thing ever imo. I never watch the prerelease videos or anything, and I try to avoid spoilers as much as possible (even though I mainly play modded). I knew about the warden and the new place, but didn't know anything else. The first time seeing it, I tucked tail and ran. I think I cried a little bit too. Maybe had to change pants too lol. I still remember the first time playing MC and the nights were dark and torches didn't help that much other than like a 3x3 area. I was kind of scared of the night back then, but nowhere near as scared of the Warden in vanilla MC lol

First of all, carpets don't stop vibrations, you need full wool blocks to actually stop the vibrations. You can also cover sensors with wool blocks to completely stop them from detecting you. Also the shriekers (the things that make sounds like they're screaming) can also be stopped by wool blocks,

Best in warden lair is to sneak to thoses skulks sensers and break them all as fast as you can and run back to your tunnel when the warden show up... the warden can sonicboom you from far away but can not follow you in the narrow passage... when there is no more of thoses skulk sensers (the green slab with the dangling rabit ears things that shine when you make noise near them)... there is no more call for the warden... and the ancien city is safe... until you trigger the last senser that you forgot...

Blocks of wool are better than carpets and if you put them around the chest when you open it won't set off sensors. Also potions of night vision mean you don't need torches. You probably want to get nether wart from the nether fortress so you can start brewing potions.

Surround the chests with wool block on all four sides and then open it, the wool muffles the noise of it opening:) So the blocks are called Skulk. Just the regular ’old Skulk blocks, which you can get Xp points from if your break them and the Warden emerges from them. Skulk Sensor, they are the wavy ones that light up, they track movement and send signals to the Skulk Shriekers, (if one is close enough) which are the ones with the four bone/rib thingys, they summon the Warden if they are set off 3 times. The Sensors also alert the Warden to your location/movement once he comes out. Then there are Skulk Catalysts, they spread the regular Skulk blocks if something dies near them, they are the half Skulk half bone/rib block, and then last there are the Skulk Veins that are the blotches on top of other blocks, at the end of a patch of Skulk. The Warden does go away after a while if he can’t find you or you leave the area. By the way, you are braver then me. I’ve been playing Minecraft about 3 years and a few updates, I haven’t gone in the Deep Dark, risked the Ancient City or dared the horror of the Warden 😅 Everything I know about it is from KZbin players… lol

Instead of walking long distances back and forth, you can also make a portal on each side. Through the nether, the distance is only 1/8 of the overworld distance. The only drawback is it's in the nether, and that can be... stressful. But you can make your own tunnels in the nether and make traversing between portals quite easy.

The ancient City is a really risky place. You can get really good and some unique loot from the chests, but the warden, wich spawns after 3 shrieker signals is always a danger. The warden isnt there, to be killed, he doesnt drop anything useful. He is there to be avoided. He digs back into the ground, if he doesnt get a signal for one minute.
@mt2345t Жыл бұрын
Not torches but potions of night vision is what you need for these places.
@smn7074 Жыл бұрын
all the things in ancient city and the warden work with sound. wool is the sound proof block. if you surround the sensors and cathalysts with wool,they won't notice sound.(cathalysts spawn warden if they hear voice 3 times.) warden is deaf btw so you can distract it with throwing egg or snowball somewhere else.
@IzzRei Жыл бұрын
Catalysts don’t spawn wardens, shriekers eventually do when they get a signal from a sensor or if they are touched by the player. Catalysts are a bit quirky and at first don’t seem to do much except provide light. But what they do is spread the infection, anything their light continually shines on can eventually turn into skulk. They can even make sensors or non active shriekers if a mob is killed by them. The key to an ancient city is the efficiency V mending hoe that can he found in a chest. You get that along with swift sneak 3 and have a bunch of wool (completely provided by the city) and shears and the ancient city is a puzzle you can do

The loot will not disappoint 🫣 Make sure you sneak when you are in there, that will stop you from triggering the shriekers. They will scream, and if they scream three times they will set of the warden on the third one; good luck ❤ Keep up the good work.

Warden despawns if he senses no activity of ANY kind for 60 seconds in his ginormous sensing range. So if there are nearby mobs like bats, skeletons, zombies, and so on then it will never ever despawn which means you have to light up the whole area enough that no mobs spawn within his range INLCLUDING every single pocket of air through walls that isn't even open to the city (good luck with that) because he ignores walls. While no mobs should spawn on the dark blocks that surround the warden and the city, there could be a small 3 by 3 air pocket somewhere in the rocks where an unfortunate zombie has been spawned in the darkness and it's groans will keep the warden awake and well indefinitely unless the zombie despawns. Crappy design in my opinion but I was not a fan of the warden from the get go. You can break the blocks that summon him (the shrieking ones with 4 light colored corners) by putting FULL wool blocks not just carpet all around those blocks so they can not transmit or receive sound and then breaking those suckers. You will need a LOT more carpet, wool blocks and torches to make this a successful expedition. Your best bet is to just prevent him from being summoned in the first place. There is a sneaking enchantment for boots that can help in this area. Also both sculk sensors and shrieker blocks can be broken with silk touch enchanted hoe to be used later for stuff. 10/10 would recommend a diamond hoe (even a netherite one if it can be swung or a golden one if you want to be even quicker about it and bring a few hoes with you since golden tools run out so quick) enchanted with silk touch for removing all the objects that help summon the warden. You can also open the chests by surrounding them in full wool blocks as well as it helps block out the sound. Basically wool blocks are your best friend in this place. One simply cannot get by with mere carpet when one does not have godlike minecraft skills. Also it might be helpful to have a potion of night vision instead of placing torches inside the city. It's not like mobs can spawn anywhere in the actual city anyway, only in the small air pockets inside the walls.
