Exploring the Area Around WOODHENGE

In this second Vlog from the Stonehenge Ancient Landscape, my friend Dodie and I explore the Prehistoric area around Woodhenge. We take a Walk to try and find a Long Barrow, do a spot of Dowsing around The Cuckoo Stone, a look at Woodhenge itself and ending at the large Neolithic Settlement Site of Durrington Walls.

Wow! That was good. There is so much going on in the huge open landscape of which Stonehenge is but a tiny part. Very, very little is accessible to the casual visitor (either physically - no access, or because what remains is so subtle as to be too hard to see). This is definitely one area where doing your homework, studying maps and plans and associations, before you go will improve your experience and understanding immeasurably. I would highly recommend 'Stonehenge' by Francis Pryor (2016) as an accessible starting point.

Looking at overview on information map of woodhendge,whats immediately is reconizable the post holes are constructed in pairs suggesting to me a lintel being the intention

Could be, I would think it i similar in structure to The Sanctuary at Avebury.
