Great footage! We came through there a month ago and actually saw a koala walking along the road in the same spot! Same one? He is living dangerously! We came back to Bright over Mount Hotham in snow and ice was very sketchy! Am off towards that region and McKillops Bridge on Wednesday on the KTM and over to the coast so let’s see if I can spot that koala! Thanks for the awesome video of our backyard!

Definitely one of my favourite rides in Australia, going from south to north is my preferred way to travel though. Riding north with the rock wall on the left is a lot safer than riding south on the Victorian side due to the sheer drops on the left, there is not much room to manoeuvre if you encounter a four wheel drive coming the other way. The road out to McKillops bridge has some spectacular scenery and limestone rod is a good ride over to Benanbra and onto Omeo, so many options from Omeo back towards Melbourne, be it via Mt Hotham, the great Alpine road to Bairnsdale or my personal favourite, upper Livingston rod- Birigan rod onto Dargo. Anyone who visits Australia has to see the Victorian high country, Bright, Omeo, Dargo, Mt Hotham, and ride/ drive the Omeo Highway- great alpine road from Bairnsdale all the way to Tallangata on the NSW border.

Gotta watch those Roos Kinga, one night I was riding along and discovered one dopey bastard sitting upright un the middle of the road. Fortune smiled when I closed to about 10m of him and he didn;t jump straight at me (believe me it happens) I made the descision then not to ride after dark again. You can get wombats on the road at night too, but they are easy, you just go for the dark end of the lump in the road (not the shiney end where the eyes are). Wombats do have reverse gear but they take a while to select it so you can ride around them easily.
