Yes! This is what building my car is about for me- the ability to go places, hike, bike, learn about history, see beautiful places, etc.! Glad to see you still plugging along at the Forester and the channel. Cheers!

Greetings from Greece. You have a very nice all-around vehicle built, I really enjoy your videos. I am interested in starting a similar project for my family’s excursions and if you would be able to provide some insight it would be really helpful. In Greece we get the SF and SH Foresters with the 2.0 NA EJ engines. The very early SFs get the older Phase I EJs. All have the 5spd manual with dual range standard except the XT models. Does SF only get the 1.44 reduction ratio, or also the SG? Or SG only gets the 1.19 only? Further the center diff has always the 4kg? Also, depending on the trim, it seems that they also get a viscous rear LSD, but does SF also get this also in the 2.0 NA configuration? Finally, I have read that the SG is a little lighter than the SF, but not sure if big difference (maybe ard 50kg?). Any opinion and feedback would be appreciated. In Australia we get similar trims/models with Greece, based on what I have seen in the past catalogues. You get also the EJ25 with the 5spd dual range which is a good case. I have inquired with ADS abt costs of purchasing the mid-performance gearbox that they offer, a total of abt 5,000 Aus dollars for the whole package is their reply (with the helical LSD front diff and the 12kg center diff, plus all the works included). Thanks in advance!

Hey, thanks for reaching out to me. So the SF had the best low range with the 1.44 and SG/SH both came with the 1.19 low which is pretty useless. In terms of LSD I think all SG models came with a VLSD in the rear, which you did not get with SH and only some turbo models with the SF. From the natural aspirated options I really like the SG for the reasons you mentioned earlier, but if your planning on changing the driveline you may as well choose your favourite looking forester and then put your desired gearbox in to suit you.

hi i was wondering if you have mentioned in a past video which compressor you use, thanks for the inspirational subie vids
@ignitionoffroad50282 жыл бұрын
I use a Ridge Ryder air compressor from supercheap auto. They seem to be identical to the Adventure Kings Thumper compressor, both being good budget options.

Hey there mate, I noticed you don't have a snorkel on this build? How have you made it safe for water crossings? I have a snorkel but I just don't want to put a hole in my panel
@ignitionoffroad50282 жыл бұрын
Yep, this build has no diff breathers and no snorkel. All things I still need to do. I wanted to go for a stainless snorkel on this build hence why I didn’t transfer the plastic one across. The crossings in this river were well below the intake and just below the rear diff so I shouldn’t have taken any damage.
