Does all of this removal need to be done with the 2"-2.5" lift on a XV as well, I've just received my lift kit from them
@ignitionoffroad50285 күн бұрын
@@timmcdonald5553 no, they are completely different lift kits for different vehicles. The XV has a completely different suspension setup in the rear and the monster lift featured in this video is an extreme lift including spacing out the entire driveline which is not required for a 2” lift.

I did the same all my Subaru's have had a low range, the car's are useless with no low range, now my xt has low range much better than before, Subaru are going the wrong way today with the crap they're making, to sell a car today it has to be different from the rest of them,a old Subaru could work hard all day and be more capable than others, but not any more with the new stuff, well done and another man that thinks the same as me.

Why does a strap with a HIGHER load capacity present MORE risk, not less? I find that highly counter-intuitive.
@ignitionoffroad502812 күн бұрын
@@sundaydiver because a strap with a higher capacity is designed to stretch under a heavier load. Therefore a higher capacity snatch strap, snatching a lighter load will not act elastic enough to transfer the energy safely.

Good video as for the spark plugs you could do like another person ssid use a hole saw but i would weld in some sleeves so it dosen compromise the sub frame but that would mean droping the engine unless its just for looks personally i would also add subframe rails and beef up the unibody but im really rough on cars lol and i like fabing stuff up. Thanks for the video hopefully ill get to do some stuff like that if i get this 96 legacy outback tomorrow but doing the Forester strut mods first thanks keep up the good work!!!!!!!

Just watching this for the first time as I prepare to do a lift on my 05 xt Forester and looking at my lift options. Amateur question: Is that suspension you're running pretty much stock? or would I need taller springs than stock for this to work? Would there be much benefit to purchasing other than stock springs? Also, did adding this lift allow you the option to run a larger tire size? Either way, what Tire size are you running? Thanks! Looks siiiick!
@ignitionoffroad502816 күн бұрын
@@Ilikeguitaralot lots of questions there! Yes, in most cases the suspension stays stock and a lift spacer is simply the placed on top of the strut. I would avoid running raised springs but you can look at heavy duty springs if you plan to load up your subie for adventures. I run 215/75r15 tires. Unfortunately most Subarus don’t have much room to upsize wheels without modifying the body for clearance.

Why do u need to drain coolant n unplug battery and fuel linw and anything inside the engine for installing a lift kit is all that really in the way to install coilovers
@ignitionoffroad502829 күн бұрын
@@NateW-ve4do because it is a driveline drop, and the engine is physically lowered from the chassis, coolant lines and steering shafts all have to be extended. You can lift a Subaru around 2 inches with spacers or offroad coilovers before needing the body spacers.

Had three subys in a row, an 84 Sportwagon, a 94 wagon and a 2009 Forester. Time came to go EV and Subaru didn't make one. So, for the first time in over 20 years I bought another brand that did. Now they have the Solterra, but that's just a shitty rebadged Toyota bz4x, wonder when they will get off their butts and make a real EV. Subaru suspension and AWD system combined with EV torque and power, that would be amazing.

Hi I’m in the US, I had the good fortune to come across a dual range box at a local junkyard. Pulled it & engine from an Impreza and have installed it in a 99 Forester S. I have set up the range shifter using a seat motor and a polarity reversing switch with blue LEDs. What year is your Foz. BTW my car DOES have the LO indicator built in I would think that yours does as well its on the right side upper quadrant. id send pics if i knew how

Funny video, but none of those cowboys seem to have a locking diff on their 4WD's. This doesn't take anything away from the Subi, their AWD is pretty good for the price. And holy shit, that strap. Good thing it didn't snap and take someone's head off.
