I hope you all enjoyed a look at some more great locations found on the backroads. The day was cut a bit short for exploring with the big storms moving in but whenever I can get out on the backroads it's always a great day! Take care everyone and keep exploring!

My pleasure! It is a really fun hobby being out there and seeing what can still be found. It was definitely an active day for storms all around with some tornados also.

Looks like an interesting day exploring these backroads. Good thing you called off the days exploration as that storm sounded like it was going to be a doozie! Exploring the backroads and finding old ruins to explore sounds to me like the perfect day🤩

I'd so wish that more was done, through maybe even government funding, to help preserve some of these amazing abandoned pieces of our history alive. Appreciate your documentations!! Bruce and Otis

I guess the cost would be just too much unfortunately. I am glad to come across some that are being saved though. Take care!

Hi Wade. The buildings look amazing. Hopefully the wildfires didn't damage the classic buildings in the area of the fires. Stay safe and may the weather be in your favour on the road trips.

Yes beautiful looking old buildings for sure and yea I sure hope not too much was lost out there from the fires. They were really bad and have calmed down a bit for now but it still continues to be dry and hot in most places. Have a great day!

Hello Wade in the segment of :01:12 the Name of the Hall is "Podola' as a Wiki stating:'Podolia or Podilia is a historic region in Eastern Europe, located in the west-central and south-western parts of Ukraine and in northeastern Moldova. Podolia is bordered by the Dniester River and the Carpathian arc. Covering an area of 40,000 km², it features an elongated plateau and fertile agricultural land". So the immigrants from that region were in Alberta and now we know how hard they were working there to make the fields grow the grain....I wonder if there were forest as they were given the land?The wooden buildings have many Slavic accents in the details ...still ...Thank you again for showing us Alberta so divine and full of thunderstorms. The flora is a breath taking in its multi colours ....Cheers Wade from Toronto!

Most of these communities were built by early settlers from those parts of eastern Europe with a big population coming to Alberta from Ukraine late 1800s and early 1900s. You can trace a lot of the names back to eastern Europe. Thanks for the info. Love seeing and learning about this history. It is beautiful seeing the fields in bloom this time of year. Have a great day!

@exploringwithwade What exactly is "the Backroads"? Is it a certain area in Canada or just something you call similar vast prarie areas?
@ExploringwithWade
@ExploringwithWade Жыл бұрын
The backroads are same as when people say take the road less traveled or off the beaten path. Just getting off the main roads.
