North Wales possesses a depth of history unlike any other place, a true joy to visit as a historian as the sheer number of castles along with the backdrop of snowdonia truly creates what one would consider an authentic medieval world.

Another great video lads. I know it’s a trek for Ethan at least, but would love to see videos on Clifford’s tower in York and it’s walls. Plus Pontefract Castle where King Richard II died causing Shakespeare to call the town “Bloody Pomfret”, among other things happening in it’s history.

Nice video guys! If you ever find yourself in Yorkshire, you should checkout pontefract castle. Haven’t been myself despite living round the corner, but it was where Richard II spent his last days, so I’m sure it has some interesting history behind it. Keep the vids coming👍👍👍

I'd be interested to sea you cover the D. B. Cooper mystery. I'd understand if it's not quite historical enough for the three of you but I think it's a really interesting topic and I'd love to see you tackle it. :)

It's historical enough but we like to break down any historical true crime for sure because we know such topics would do well and we don't want to be cornered in that box.

4:55 becoming significantly less alive* 😂😂 Was the cameraman drinking a bit? Or was it just that windy? Probably need a motion sickness warning at the beginning lol. Good video though
@DecadesVideos
@DecadesVideos 10 ай бұрын
Cameras at that pricepoint don't respond well to wind - they also don't handle motion awfully well though I'm sure there are some skills we'll amass over time but we can only make do with what we have for now.

@DecadesVideos I figured it was wind when I saw the trees moving around. I'm guessing a gimbal setup based on the way it was moving? If so idk if there's really a wY to stop camera movement in windy situations. Could try just old fashioned camera work. But love the channel keep up the good work
@DecadesVideos
@DecadesVideos 9 ай бұрын
@@Pr0digyZRX we do use a gimbal setup regularly but in this video we went handheld; stewarded sites don't tend to mind you using a handheld camera for amateur productions like this but the moment you start to bring pro kit like gimbals or even something as simple as a tripod places don't like it as much. Out of respect, we go into sites quite light as a means to not get in the way.
@Pr0digyZRX
@Pr0digyZRX 9 ай бұрын
@DecadesVideos ah that makes sense. Wonder why some places don't like professional camera equipment but don't mind filming in general. I mean just basic professional equipment. Some of it makes sense but just gimbals and tripods seem like normal equipment to me.
@DecadesVideos
@DecadesVideos 9 ай бұрын
@@Pr0digyZRX tripods can be quite touchy as you need to place them down so they could theoretically get in the way - moreover rocking up with every professional luxury or giving the appearance of budget suggests a bigger production than what is simply amateur photography and filming at best so they may want you to pay to hop onto a site with all kinds of kit. Of course, how much you can actually get away with beyond just a humble camera in reality depends entirely on how confident you are

It's interesting the huge number of people you have to tell that, "no, I am from Wales in the UK and NOT England". It was easy with people in New York because you ask them about life "here in Texas" but it gets really dangerous when you are questioned by ethno nationalist idiots who because they want to live in a country with just one nationality or ethnic group that everyone else MUST be the same. It can get rather fraught when you have to explain different nationalities and ethnic identities to someone whose society has done their damnedest to genocide any and all ethnic minorities within their borders.
