Until 2000 when DNA evolved, there serial killings that far outnumbered the Ripper murders. Only in the last 20 some years have the criminal investigation techniques caught up with the serial killers.

I don’t have much time since I’m typing this in class but thank you sir for such an interesting topic. I only ever heard of Mr. Peel from an extra history episode on the thieftaker general. I wonder how Peel would see the modern metropolitan police today? Or even those of its commonwealth nations like Canada?

The burlap sack story is incorrect. The american feed and flour sacks were made from a cheap but sturdy grade of woven cotton. The pretty floral prints are well documented and much of the fabric ( similar to modern quilting cotton ) and unused bags, quilts, and garments, still exist

who called Vikings Norse????? I'm Danish I know England called them Danes , central Europe called them Normans (that's why when Vikings was given a part of Northern France it was called Normandy and they were called Normans) or Northman , the east called them Rus or varangians, there were also Sveir(Swedes have their name from them Sveirige/Sweden means realm of the Sveir , in the Viking age in old Norse they used the term Vikingr/Vikingar in diff. ways both as "going Viking" but also "he was great Vikingr"and one rune stone text compains about Vikingar (plural) from another Scandinavian country that said Vikings probably identified by their tribe or Chieftan , in Scandinavia we don't know the term "Norse" other than from modern day English speakers, it is however very close to the Scandinavian word Norsk=Norwegian or Nordman/Normann also Norwegian, in Scandinavia we simply call Scandinavians during the Viking age Vikinger from Old Norse, we don't have other words for them sorry, anyway nobody know for sure what the word meant but certainly if was used about people, it could have meant seafarer, warrior, pirate or it may have come from the Old Norse word "Vik" meaning inland or Bay , there is also an entire are in Scandinavia called "Viken" so in many Scandinavian museums and books is say it ,means "people from the Vik"

Another fantastic video once again. The transitions between facts are a bit too quick and rough though. I would recommend giving a bit of silence before jumping into the next fact or counting each fact's number before telling it. Thanks 👍

Refarding V Dub and the beetle etc! Only my opinion based on knowlege aquired over decades. Yeah, I'm old and have lived a lot. My FATHER, not grandfather, fought in WW2 lol. Anyway, re The People's Car (Volks Vagen) VW, lol. VW would have died a death if a BRITISH OFFICER hadn't seen the potential. He and other Brits scrounged money from our already bankrupt government and made it a thing, teaching the Germans how to make the production work. Then, very stupidly IMHO we simply handed it all over to the Germans without even keeping a tiny stake in it. Again, IMHO, considering how much WW2 had cost Great Britain because of German aggression and the money and work WE (not the Americans) put into it, WE should have kept at least a 51% shareholding in it. It would have helped US rebuild our economy after the war and after the terrible way America screwed us after it.

The surrender of Robert E. Lee to Ulysses S. Grant was between two generals not government officials, the Confederate congress never surrendered to the Union congress nor did Confederate President Jefferson Davis and Union President Abraham Lincoln sign a formal peace treaty so technically the American Civil War is still on going and the states of Virginia,North Carolina,South Carolina,Tennessee,Georgia,Florida,Alabama,Mississippi,Arkansas,Louisiana and Texas are just under Union occupation for the past nearly 160 years
