@@Caved_Johnsonyes, it is mentioned in the high energy lab. Also I find it interesting that the glass roof of the timber hearth tower is broken so when the sand pillar comes by it lifts you up like you’re being shot out of a geyser. In the games lore it’s most likely coincidence but the devs definitely did it on purpose.

I like using the hourglass twins as a giant time monitoring device in the game! The reason why is because they take 20 minutes to transfer the sand from Ash Twin to Ember Twin! Sometimes when I play the game, I think that the sand transfer is so facilitating, that I like to travel to either planet (Depending on how I feel about each one) just to watch the sand falling! It’s just that facilitating!

Here's a shower thought for you: How did the Nomai create both the towers and the Sunless City? They mention the sand rising in Ember, so we know the sand exists, and that sand has to be somewhere. But if they can make the city, the sand must be on Ash, and if they can make the towers (and the ATP) the sand must be on Ember. It would make sense if all the Nomai from the city relocated to the Hanging City, but we also have logs from the HEL showing people are still there. Only way I can see this working is 1) HEL experiments 2) plans for towers and ATP 3) Sunless citizens move to Hanging 4) sand moves from Ash to Ember 5) start building.
@BlappetureCO
@BlappetureCO 3 жыл бұрын
An evacuation to the Hanging City is definitely not how they dealt with it. For starters, this is a problem that they had to deal with while the two groups were isolated. One thing you're missing as well is where the sand in the Sunless City is coming from. And if you follow the falling sand up, you will see that they come from cracks in the ceiling, not pre-existing holes. Therefore, the Sunless City doors are what kept out the sand in the first place. Remember that the ET Nomai said that the caves were airtight. That means there was never meant to be sand entering the city.
@rocketlanterns
@rocketlanterns 3 жыл бұрын
@@BlappetureCO That actually explains a lot though there is still one more question about it: if the doors are what keeps the sand out, then either the sand only got more severe in the time between the Nomai go extinct and the Hearthians evolved, Or the Nomai on ET would have to cope with regular intervals of being completely shut off from outside as the sand does go high enough in the game to bury the gravity cannon and their highest exit. And if the latter, there would need to be some coordination to be able to build the ATP while the Sunless City was sealed away.

One thing I caught on is that in one of the recordings detailing the digging of the Ash twin core, the nomai were discussing their finding of _some peculiar and very resistant seeds_ buried deep and asleep the sands. So, being the conservationists they were, _they relocated them to several parts in the surface of both planets._ And that's where those goddamn annoying *space barrel cactus* things come from and why they took over several nomai buildings. _Thanks, Nomaiba._

The Nomai weren't 'lucky' that they never broke spacetime. Breaking spacetime isn't even canon. It's only there because the player has free will, whereas the Nomai and Hearthians' is restricted and prevents them from trying to stop matter from being destined to go through a black hole (but not from contemplating it at least, as shown by the writing in the Statue Workshop), which is impossible to code into the game in such a way. So the devs decided to make it a cool thing to reward players for thinking outside the box. The Nomai already tried to prevent information from being destined to enter a black hole and were successful. That and their contemplation between sending matter or information back in time highly suggests that they weren't actively preventing themselves from trying the same thing with matter, they just didn't have the free will to do it.
@TheLoreExplorer
@TheLoreExplorer 3 жыл бұрын
No offense. But its not just an easter egg. its built into the game to prevent other logical exploits(such as infinitely duplicating yourself with no repercussion) from being possible. But its an actual piece of lore in the game. And makes total sense if youve watched and understood my videos. Also, when did the nomai try to prevent info from "being destined" to enter a black hole? And when did they contemplate matter vs info? They send matter through black hole cores all the time. Thats how their space ships function. thats how the warp towers function. If power were to go out right before a tower warped someone, spacetime would end. Thats all i was saying. plus, i dont buy the whole "well, they are written characters and so dont have free will". There is nothing in universe that would have stopped clary from accidently bumping a warp core.
@BlappetureCO
@BlappetureCO 3 жыл бұрын
@@TheLoreExplorer > Also, when did the Nomai try to prevent info from being "destined" to enter a black hole? ...that's literally how the ATP functions? In the final loop, the ATP is deactivated and no transmission being sent through any black hole at the end occurs. Therefore, all that data that came through the white hole (which if you notice, doesn't have a partner now) came from 'nowhere'. Essentially, the universe is fine with an information paradox. But not with a matter paradox. In-game, that's shown as spacetime breaking to not impede on the player's freedom. In-universe, matter paradoxes just don't occur at all. > If power were to go out right before a tower warped someone, spacetime would end. Are you really saying the Nomai were willingly risking the destruction of the universe just to get to places easily? Or are you saying they were ignorant about it, which is even less likely. > "well, they are written characters and so don't have free will" Never said that but ok. Only ever said that the universe doesn't permit any matter paradoxes. The Nomai can go ham on creating information paradoxes all they want, the ATP is a testament to that.
@TheLoreExplorer
@TheLoreExplorer 3 жыл бұрын
ok. thats how the atp functions. but its not like theyve done it before and tested the atp. they only ever tested it on small scales that resolve themselves right away. even with matter you dont need to shoot your probe into the black hole each loop. So even if this would happen for data, those tests would never of caught it. Mainly, I dont remember a debate saying "well, we should only send back memories because if we send back our actual selves or matter spacetime could shatter if the cycle doesnt repeat". Again, they just got lucky having to send memories rather than their bodies(so they dont experience 9 million loops) So yes. I was saying they were ignorant of the dangers of spacetime damage. Im not sure how else you figure out spacetime would shatter other than shattering spacetime. And that obviously hasnt happened to them. Also, if they knew about it, it wouldnt be much luck saving them, rather knowledge. Also, I took it as saying they only added something because we(what i thought to mean the pc) has free will. Which implies the others dont. But you just meant literally us, the person playing. So sorry about the confusion there. that was on my end.
