Live with a proper daw and mixer. I've been waiting on a daw to get this right. It's not just a loop and pattern player it allows faster takes, edits, and arrangment for all styles, not just electronic music. So many possibilities. I get lots of patterns and ideas but stumble when trying to arrange in the classic way cut, copy-paste. This solves that problem nicely.

What is the difference between the launcher and the scratch pad, if both are meant to test arrangements?

I use both, since I have band mates that's use studio one. I do really like abletons version though. Just cause I'm used to it

When PreSonus released v6 I actually made the switch to Ableton and have used it ever since. With the latest S1 release though I'm back. And I'll most likely be using both from now on.

Please note this. The sustain padal in key editor in should be there by default , which already has the pitch band and modulation feature in there. Every time searching midi 64 is overwhelming.

I was just about to buy Ableton Live for this very feature! When demoing Ableton though, if you want to set a 2 bar recording, then have it punch out after 2 bars and automatically start looping playback, you need to use a custom Max for Live device (it's not a default feature of the DAW). Ableton Push users can do it but that's another story. I'm going to demo this and see if S1 does the auto-looping thing after a pre-determined set amount of recording time.

You can certainly create a Playlist of the scenes, or drag them directly into the timeline and export, yes!

I've always built my songs from looping and copying parts in the arrange window. Copy out the song, go back and delete parts, bam you've got a song. Is this gonna be that much easier or cooler, that I need to spend $150? I dunno

This is easier for arrangement as well as for preview but I am not sure it's worth the upgrade.

What you're doing is basically the same thing but now you can launch scenes.

The launcher in V7.00 is totally crap. When you recording directly into it from a live instrument it cuts randomly the end off. I also had the case that I recoded into it and the clip was there with the waveforms but I couldn't hear it doesn't matter on what track I move it. It is nice to pay an annual license for unusable features. When you start this annual thing you have to make sure that you deliver working software not beta ware.

I waited , waited, waited and bought Live and now this 😒 Good for Studio One but I think I'll stick to Ableton since they have been doing this for a while and there's more learning content and hardware support for it.

Seems like it's copying Cubase's Arranger track. Also seems like more work since one you tell it to replace with your playlist, it's just looped content which you can do what he showed with key commands without the need for the "integrated launcher". But what do I know, I compose music with pen and staff paper

All great “functions” and “gimmicks” - For real musicians there are hardly any new functions, the update is not only a disappointment for existing customers (upgrade costs 50€ less than a completely new account). The worst thing is the new forced subscription model - you've driven me and many other customers away with it. For us, the torrent client remains
