First KAT clip I've seen that makes the trip seem worthwhile! Nicely done, Chris.

Thank you homie. I hadn't seen many KAT videos that looked tough, so I think most either skip the hard trails, or they're running main 3 and 4 that are a lot easier. But this trip was totally worth it!

Nice job on the video, buddy! Enjoyed watching it. Big thanks for the shout outs too! Cheers

Beautiful scenery! definitely looks like a trail for an experienced group.

Some of it was. If you don't do the "hard" trails none of it is bad. And we took the trails after a few days of rain so everything was slippery. But what a great time!

Thank you! Ya, Collin is a bit new to any of the harder wheeling, but he did great and was picking it up fast. Jay and Lewis are my boys, they're awesome to wheel with!

That scraping caused me pain all the way down into my soul 😂. I ran part of Main 4, and want to some day finish out Main 4. We should totally link up and run it!
@EverymanOverland Жыл бұрын
I've heard main 4 is largely paved roads, but I'm very much down to finish it all. Then run all of the DBBBBBBB. Then start working on the Hatfield Mccoy system

I picked up Main 4 at about Elkhorn, KY and ran it to around Wharncliffe, WV. The first half of that section was paved roads, and was, well, boring. After it left paved road it was a lot of fun though. It looks like the further west you get after Wharncliffe, the more remote it becomes (and less paved)

@@DefiantOffroad We completed Main 3 and Main 4 a couple weeks ago... Unfortunately, Main 4 was primarily pavement the entire way. There is Hard 9, that is gated off as private property. After Hard 9, there were maybe 3 other dirt roads / trails, 2 of which were gated off halfway through. If we knew this prior, we would have omitted Main 4 altogether.

That narrow section on walker creek has gotten so bad!!!! Not much longer and it’s going to be not possible
@EverymanOverland Жыл бұрын
I didn't know that was it's name, but ya, I don't see that lasting much longer. We walked it before driving it and kicked at the edge to be sure, so it's solid right now. But a few more rainy seasons... That may be all she wrote.

Awesome footage. Is everyone on 35s? I want to head out there but I'm on 33s and feel like I won't have the clearance.

My FJ is on 33s. The tacoma are on 35s. What are you driving? Lots of guys make it through just fine in 33s.

@@benjaminjmace you'll be fine. I'd take a friend if you don't have a winch, but that's good advice for any trail anywhere. You may bump and run in a few spots, but you'll get through. I think the biggest concern is how hard did it rain before you go out there. The mud is very sick. If the trail is dry, no worries at all. If it's wet, go prepared...

@@EverymanOverland gotcha yeah I am planning a trip over with a handful of people from VA in April. Now I need to decide on KAT or DBBB. However that 1 spot where everyone destroys their rear driver rim makes me want to 100% not do this haha
