You mentioned winter camping, and that the rainfly wouldn't really matter because you'd have the windows closed... one place it might matter is at the back door. If it snows it could be nice to have the rainfly to help keep snow from getting in between the solid door & mesh. Nothing worse than zipping down that door and snow falls on on your bed!

@EverymanOverland17 күн бұрын
@@NateBoyce1789 ill be testing with a CO2 tank soon, and a few other ideas. The apex valves wouldn't make any difference as they use standard valve cores, but I would like to try the oversized valves that require you redrill your wheels. I think that would see a difference... I've also thought running dual valve stems in each wheel could help, but again, custom drilling I'm not looking to pay for... If I were on 40s it might be worth it, but on 33s, this all happens fast enough..
@NateBoyce178916 күн бұрын
@EverymanOverland Sweet!! I've subscribed and notifications on so I can see that update. I have a 2024 Raptor(had a 2018 Raptor) and I used your video to build my inflate/deflate system. With a CO2 tank(ran at 175psi on regulator) on my 35's on that truck, it took less the 2 mins to fill up all 4 from 30psi to 50psi(i ran Wildpeak AT3W and they rode much smoother at 50psi)...I had AlphaEquipt Command wheels and they had dual valvestems and I had Apex Performance valves in one of those spots. Apex also has some end caps that screw on and it pushes the valvestem in and out of the way, however it's an open system and makes dang near impossible to use on the 4 wheel system. I hadn't seen or heard about the bigger valvestems/cores that need drilling, but that sounds interesting.
@xpvibe17 күн бұрын
Great video. My theory is as the hose gets larger to increase volume it reduces the velocity at which the air is pushed through. With the valve cores being the ultimate choke point at 1/8" to 3/16" having the increased velocity created from the 1/4" hose will force more air through the valve stem more rapidly. utilizing an 1/8" hose in theory should fill equal to the 1/4" hose if not slightly faster but having the compressor engineered to work with 1/4" hose it would become inefficient and heat up the pumps more rapidly. Where you will see a difference with the 1/4" is using a pressurized tank as the pressure would create a much higher velocity forcing more air through the valve. I am much more familiar with air suspension but it all works off the same principals.
@EverymanOverland17 күн бұрын
@@xpvibe thank you for watching... I think you're on track with the velocity at the valve core. I'll be testing again soon with a few different ideas including a CO2 tank.

Get, or lay on a full size air mattress. That's all the room you have in there. And your feet are down at the narrow end of the wedge getting trapped. @EverymanOverland29 күн бұрын
@breadfanornofan1148 the roof nest pop up will have the same problem that it has a fixed floor dimension. You're going to want something that folds, so the floor dimensions increase when it's opened. If you're looking at roof nest, the condor is what you'll want. Or the ikamper sky camp, tuff stuff Overland alpha... I'm sure there's more. Even the smittybilt Overlander soft shell. Soft shells are a bit of a pain to set up and tear down, but they're big inside. As to using your tailgate instead of a ladder, I don't understand why you would do that, but... I'd have to look at the setup you have to figure out if you could make it work. My initial thought is you couldn't.
@breadfanornofan114829 күн бұрын
@ looks like the Sparrow 2 has a decent amount of length. I'm going to take a stab at it and see if it'll work. Thankfully both roofnest and amazon have amazing return policies. The reason I want to try and use my tailgate is that I had a back injury awhile back so Ive been trying to find a decent tent with a rear entry. It's going on a 2017 Tundra with a 12in bed rack so it's not too high up from the tailgate. I also hate ladders so for me a step stool on the tailgate may be better for me. I really appreciate your insight and I'll keep you updated when I get it. May even do a review!

On a normal use passenger car this is incredibly stupid overkill unless you are doing something special and you are still going to need a sufficient output compressor. These systems work well because they can take air from the semi tractor (power unit).

@@kmg501 as a long time driver, I'm familiar. These are fairly useless for a passenger car doing mall car things. They are nice however for airing down and back up on the trail.
