• CONGAREE NATIONAL PARK, SOUTH CAROLINA:
I embarked on another adventure, joined by my brother Alex, and this time we decided to take a road trip to the Great Smokey Mountains National Park. Before doing so, we wanted to make a stop at a different, lesser known, national park. A park seldom discussed and less crowded. This park is known as Congaree National Park, situated only 30 minutes from Columbia, South Carolina. Being that the park was on the way to our final destination, we thought it would be a great place to explore. We are sure glad we did. Congaree National Park preserves the largest tract of old growth bottomland hardwood forest left in the United States. The lush trees are some of the tallest in the U.S., and form some of the highest deciduous forest canopies remaining in the world. This majestic forest is one not to be missed!
