My parents, siblings, grandmother and I stayed in this hotel in 1964 when we moved to Bunkie. I was a teenager and loved the old building. The glass transoms above the doors were awesome to me. We opened them to let fresh air flow through the rooms but you could hear everything and everyone out in the hall. It was before any renovations were made and had the creeky old charm of bead board walls. Loved it.

I love videos like this! I love to envision abandoned historical structures alive w staff and guests hustling about like they did a century ago. (Not unlike the scene at the end of Titanic.... i know, im sentimental) 😂 I agree w you that is such a sad thing when old hotels... old anything close their doors forever. The brick wall, stained glass window, staircase... all of it. Not to mention the4 post beds, oversized bathrooms and somewhat opulent decor in general. Historical beauty is something that should be treasured and remembered. Slowly it’s being abandoned & left in ruin. Without videos like yours, I fear, it will all be forgotten. Thank you so very much for sharing. What a bittersweet treat to look into the past!

Interesting property. I think your assessment is spot on regarding water damages. Sad to see a property this large rotting away. I hope it returns to service someday. Pretty cool hotel. The building itself very odd in design and realized new buildings have been added over the years. Personally the renovations actually ruined it. The rooms look very disportioned when they changed the walls around. Especially the bathrooms. I am willing to bet the original rooms didn't have walls for the bathrooms. Everything is open which would have been fine. A half height wall for the toilet to provide privacy. I would have loved to see the original polished hardwood floors everywhere. Hopefully somebody will buy it and start it over to bring it back to it's original roots.
