The world spawns with lots of new stuff already in the world. You can't rebuild them if you grind them, but you can use them.

I believe the target dummies have a cargo pipe connection on the bottom. It uses Steel Plates to repair itself automatically.

I'm playing this right now, It's an interesting station. You guys need to check the rock station below the large grid ship, there is a button on that station that has a crazy secret function to it. *edit* dang was hoping to trick one of you with the drop pod ;)
