As a Saab owner it is nice to see some attention. I have copped much flack over the years at track days until I blow them away. They mis understood and are a fantastic safe sleeper. I have the same model with a fully custom build using a Holset turbo. So fast on the roll. Cost me 2k to buy. Won't tell you how much to build lol.

Saab the car company that almost bankrupted GM/vauxhall back in 2009 😬 a lot of Saabs had 2L vauxhall engine based on what us Brit’s called red tops I think

Gm bankrupted themselves with lots of bad business ideas and the market crash. Saab had their own lineup of 2l and 2.3l motors, no connection with vauxhall. 2003 saw the introduction of the ecotec 2l on the 9-3 only and most of the design of that engine took place in trollhättan. Gm milked saab for their engineering and left all else to rot.

@@hansbaar4448 like all motor company’s do when they buy out a failing brand?I was hinting at Saab lying about the cost of building it using thicker metal than the car it was based off etc they was told to change and they didn’t so no wonder they got the stinky end of the stick 🤣

@@iainburns4493 i would not be suprised they lied, how can you expect to get 5 star safety ratings and get numerous awards for saving peoples lives in real life crashes by using sub-par vauxhall platforms without upgrading them as much as they did? Im amazed they were able to make the cars they did given that the thing they were instructed to make before was really not even a car but a hunk of junk on 4 wheels. Every time they did what gm asked them to do, it turned out to be shit. Alot of their ideas and prototypes were shot down very early on, like the v8 engine(gm thought the 2.5 v6 from vauxhall would be better, hint, it was shit) 4wd systems in the early 90s ect ect, the stories go on and on. Gm has way more dead car companies under their belt than any other concern, if that doesnt tell you that they suck at managing car companies, nothing will.

@@iainburns4493 well the problem with Saab was they could never compete with other European car companies. They were a smaller company and never really marketed their cars very well. They spent too much on making their cars than they were getting back and they couldn’t produce vehicles as high a rate as other contemporary companies. Ultimately it was their own fault I don’t think they knew how to run a successful car company even though they really did make some great vehicles.
