Welcome to Episode 3 of our 4-Part Caribbean Vlog Series with Azamara Onward. This episode covers Barbados and St. Lucia.
In Barbados, we enjoyed its rich history, vibrant Bajan Carnival Experience during Azamara's "Destination Celebration", and pierside shopping. St. Lucia's cultural heritage reflects a rich fusion of French and British colonial legacies, evident in its language and food, offering a captivating glimpse into the Caribbean's diverse history and traditions.
THE SERIES DOCUMENTS
- Fort Lauderdale: Enjoyed a bit of ship spotting, embarked on Azamara Onward, and experienced the sail away.
- St. Thomas: Explored the waterfront and had lunch at "The Greenhouse".
- St. Maarten: Visited a local artist's shop & museum - Nick Maley’s “That Yoda Guy".
- Barbados: Enjoyed pierside shopping and Azamara's Bajan Carnival Experience, known as the Destination Celebration.
- St. Lucia: Explored the culture of Fond Latisab Creole Park.
- Guadeloupe: Explored Fort Napoleon on Îles des Saintes', Terre-de-Haut Island.
- Tortola: Went for a walkabout of the harbor area, after missing the port of Virgin Gorda, B.V.I. due to weather.

Thank you, Warren! This is our favorite part of the Caribbean, the Southern area. A bit less wild, perhaps, than steel drums of other Caribbean areas, not than the latter isn't enjoyable, either!

Barbados and St Lucia are beautiful. Love the garrison and museum part. Full of history and some insights into local culture. Very interesting st Lucia past. P.s. I would have gone for the same sample of rum as well.

Excellent video. The Mount Gay tour looked fascinating. Been to Barbados twice and each time it was a disembarkation port so have only seen the airport which is a shame, one day 😂Creole Park in St Lucia looked lovely, seeing the coconut, banana and cinnamon trees was very interesting- you forget where all these items we buy from the supermarket originate from. 👏

Were also in Barbados and St. Lucia on a December-January holiday cruise. Nice to see familiar vistas via your excellent photography. We already have reservations to repeat the same trip next year. Did you use Azamara shore excursions, or make another arrangement? I think our line does the Mount Gay tour, but I don't remember seeing excursions to the Barbados museum or the St. Lucia Creole house.

Fond Latislab in St. Lucia was the only ship tour we used. In Barbados, all of it was self-guided. We just did, as normal- a bit of navigation research before we went there. Barbados was very easy to get around via taxi, ocasionally walking between two areas of interest (the museum and old fort are adjacent one another).
