@InnocentsAbroadКүн бұрын
@@cruiseforever1281 Storage is certainly on the low side - we’ve been in a Junior Suite twice, but the model in the middle, a ‘Penthouse Veranda’- is probably the best compromise for us; next time 😊

Like the size of the table on the balcony - just right to order in (cream tea perhaps 😊). I do find that style of bathroom sink awkward though - it seems a wasteful amount of water needed to fill.

A great cabin tour. It may be quite small but seems to have everything you need and more. The heated bathroom floor is very luxurious. I'd feel very spoilt cruising with Viking. Looking forward to seeing more.
@InnocentsAbroad2 күн бұрын
@@joanfreestone1707 Thank you, Joan. The heated floor is a great feature to have. We are on the sixth of a 14-day cruise with Viking as I write this, so the rest of the more involved series will wait until later this year; just a bit too complex to produce while cruising. Another series will come out prior to that, and run from the middle of August through mid October - then, this one

My brother who is British is married to an American girl. They met online and did a lot of their courting over FaceTime & the telephone. This was one of their conversations in the early days of their relationship. My brother: what are you eating? SIL: Biscuits Br: What type? I love chocolate ones. SIL: Eeew - who’d have biscuits with chocolate? Br: well what do you have then? SIL: Gravy, same as everyone else! Br: Eeew - that’s disgusting!!! Took them a while to realise biscuits in the UK different from biscuits in the US. Since moving to the US my brother has completely embraced the culture and now refers to biscuits as cookies and I now have to ask him to explain certain things to me when we video call as he now speaks American English 😊

Very funny. I dont know how they managed to keep such straight faces. As a Brit, i still have no clue about what a grit is. Also don't know what an American biscuit is, which can, apparently, be eaten with gravy, which may, or may not, be what we call gravy in the UK 🤣🤔

From what I understand, a "biscuit" in America is a scone, but fluffier and buttery. Our(America) gravy is way different than yours. It's made with flour, milk, sausage, and black pepper mostly. You're missing out. Plus I can't tell you how many Brits I've seen declare that American food is much better and flavorful. A bit biased I'm sure, but I haven't seen anyone claim British food is better, except maybe Gordon Ramsey lol

I've always trouble understanding why americans use the word "entrée" for "main course". In french its a dish served before the main course and/or entrance (to a building). In Swedish very similar word (entre/entré) means the same as french and regarding a dish served before the main course, "starter" i beleive it's called in america, is logical being the "entrance" or beginning of a meal. After all american english developed from UK english and how a word can change so much is quite fascinating.
