This reminds me of the summer of 1968 in our boat. Best time of my life! The intensity of coming out of Lake, Huron into the Saint Clair river under the bridge in a small boat the current, so strong, the waves, so big slamming you around. Giant freighters on one side. It was so intense! I still have dreams about it. Crystal clear cold, Bluewater, slamming and spinning you around

Wow, you and Nigel get around. Sarnia's my home town. I work at that "oil treatment plant." It's the Suncor Refinery, been there since 1952. Imperial Oil is even older. (the first refinery you passed after you left the marina.) When they were built there wasn't much else in the whole area. Still, I agree, not much to look at for the Americans looking across. Thanks for visiting the area!

Nice video! I actually live just off the river you went back up off lake st Clair. The opp and police have been enforcing the rivers hard this year. Kind of kills any and all tourism to Wallaceburg or heading up the Thames river to Chatham when you have to do 8kmh.

Thanks so much! oh wow that's nice beautiful area. Ya that sucks like I get it 8kph around houses and bridges but in that open area you should be free to go. Your right it does kill the idea to go up that far that slow to those towns. Wallaceburg was very nice to see so your right bit of a shame. Thanks again for checking out the video and for reaching out Cheers!

If your going to be in the area you should check Boblo island it use to be a old amusement park that has slowly been redeveloped. They put in a small marina and there’s a couple good seasonal restaurants if your looking for a stopover and gas. If you want to can take the 5 minute ferry ride over to Amherstburg.

Oh wow is that in the Detroit river as we did not get to ride that part so that is another reason why I need to come back but wow that sounds very cool to see. And good to know about the gas thanks.

Another cool thing about going down the Detroit River right now is you can see the Gordie Howe Bridge being built. Both sides are extending out over the river and will be joining together in the next few months

@@austinta4017 things have changed a lot since I was last there 5 years ago. How do you expect a restaurant to stay in business if you cut off the island from everyone. But maybe this happened due to the pandemic. That’s to bad the Marina no longer has gas I know they did offer gas when I lived down that way.

Be cautious around swans they are as miserable as it gets, I watched one swim 100 yards just to drown ducklings, then severely injured the mother. Maybe nice to look at, but nasty to deal with.
