Welcome to this special episode of Sea Doo Adventures! We are stuck in the middle of winter up here in Canada but we always have our mind set to the next season on the water. I was very lucky to be invited back to speak at this years Toronto International Boat Show about how I get out and explore with my Sea Doo all over Ontario, and some of the best places to go.
It was so great to meet all of you that were at the show that was so cool to get to chat with you all. For those that were not able to make it here is that seminar. If you have any questions please let me know. Other wise please enjoy the video and hope to see you back out on the water soon Cheers!

Great talk! Glad you shared this online. One correction in case someone decides to try and launch at the Nepean Sailing Club in Ottawa (west section of the river). There IS a charge. You have to pay inside the sailing club (restaurant) during opening hours. The big problem is their system to pay only exists if the club is open, which is often an issue. Bylaw DOES check that parking lot periodically. You may have been lucky that one time. I've requested for an online system or a pay terminal multiple times, the city of Ottawa seems to ignore these requests. For people that go often, you can purchase a season pass, which solves the issues of the club being closed. For Lake Nipissing, besides Sturgeon Falls/North Bay, another great spot is farther west in a tiny town known as Lavigne. Extremely quiet to launch and a great spot if you need to avoid a windy day since that end of the lake is pretty well sheltered.

Thanks so much for checking it out! Ah that is great info thank you so much for sharing that. Wow that system does suck and for me when I was there I could not see any signs saying that. How bad is the ticket do you know? Yes that would be a great thing to put in if they want you to pay to use it but as we all know getting government to do anything is crazy lol. Oh wow thank you for that tip on Nippissing always great to find a new ramp and area to launch from up there. I will check it out for sure!! Thanks again for reaching out and the great info really do appreciate it. All the best out there Cheers!

@@MarkForrestAdventures I'm not sure on the fine, but I've been warned by the staff at the club about the bylaw officers and the Nepean Sailing Club also has a page on their site about possible infractions in relation to what they do. It's a very odd ramp. It's a public boat launch owned and operated by the City of Ottawa, but managed by the Nepean Sailing Club. When you pay fees, you pay it to the City of THROUGH the club who takes the fees on their behalf (apparently). It's very bad system for any off hours, holidays, etc. Since the club is often closed. I like to go early in the morning (early bird) and the club is always closed that early. Fines are probably around $70 if I had to guess. There is a sign (at least for a few years). If you go to street view and look at the ramp, you'll see a large sign right where the ramp road meets the the road coming into the parking lot. I'll post the link to street view and see if it works. But you may have to rotate. maps.app.goo.gl/ZiXVHZPX8rbfkxgt9 My dad knows Lake Nipissing extremely well. Takes his Honda Aquatrax all over the lake. He's very, very adventurous and gives tours all the time to friends/family. Knows a lot about the history too. He watches your videos ;) But if you do go back, you should ping me so you can get in touch with him. He'd be happy to go out with you I guarantee it. They have a property on the Veuve River which goes to Cache Bay (Lake Nipissing). A gravel launch on their property.

Wow that is a bad set up for sure. Ah when I went in they were doing a lot of work out by the road so might have missed it. That is so great that he is out there doing that. Ok that is great to know might just take you up on that for sure. I bet he would be able to just swamp me with cool places to see.

Hey Mark. Watching your video and you mention when camping you're able to store a fuel can inside your front storage bin of your seadoo. Canada regulations state fuel bins must be stored outaide the watercraft unless the storage is designed specifically to store fuel bins. Unless regulations have chamged very recently.

Hey Mike! Thanks so much for checking out the video. You are right that they do say that, but from what I have seen that is based on the fuel can being stored in a confined space for a 24 hr period. Now again I fully agree it is not safe to keep the fuel can in there for long periods of time but by following some of these guidelines such as, I do not leave it in there over night. I make sure to air out the compartment before starting. As well I open the compartment durning the day to allow for fresh air to vent the area, I have had no issues with this set up. Also you can now install a blower on the sea doo that you can get from your dealer and that would fully allow you to store it as well now. I have been stoped many times by both Coast Guard and OPP and they have checked my set up and have had no issue with it. Now again you are right it is not fully safe and you need to be fully aware of what can happen but with some steps you can do it safely. Thanks again for reaching out great info and topic really appreciate it all the best Cheers!

Thank you so much really appreciate that. That is a great area to explore for sure. There are 3 ramps in the area. One in Owen Sound on the east side by the best western is a nice ramp think the parking is free but not 100% sure. The 2nd is in Wiraton and it is right at the park with a nice ramp there as well and lots of parking and is free? There is a small ramp in bigbay but is small and not a ton of parking. Hope that helps all the best cheers!!
