The few times I got anywhere near Bear Creek was when I lived in Ruby Canyon in Monrovia. When I was in high school and we started the backpacking thing, it was always the East Fork. So there was that whole area in between that I never got to. I love it when you hit what is virgin ground to me. As always, great video. I am looking forward to seeing you all on the thirteenth.

@PHARRAOH nope, 2,405 miles is just a little far for me right now. I was referring that it was going to be great to see you all on the video. I would love to be there, but my job and family take priority. Sorry about the confusion.

@@PHARRAOH If you have a little left over, I would love some. Thanks for the offer and I am thinking about a run out west next fall. I will let you know if that happens and maybe we can catch a night or two out on the east fork. A dream come true for a LA transplant. I can't tell you how much I miss my mountains.

Great content as always! Finally picked up a couple of pen rods that came in today and had a question for it. I thought the backpacker model only came in 2 colors light Grey and black. Too my surprise (and a welcome one at that) I got a blend of the two as some sort of gun metal Grey. I hope it's just a one off of a accidental color blend as then it gives more bragging rights on the trail!

I can't say for sure, but they are great little rods for backpacking. I took one to Israel and fished The Sea of Galile.

Love the video! I wish I remembered the name of the product however I do not. It was a Spanish labeled product a friend recommended after I ended up with poison oak all over me after a hike one time. It was a lotion of sorts. Rub it on exposed skin before a hike. It would prevent poison oak from getting on you and ultimately spreading.

My brother had something like that, the only problem was when you sweat, the moist stuff would burn your eyes if any got in. The cold clean river must have worked, I am not showing signs of it yet.

im 59 now, since 16, thats 43 years of exploring, camping, backpacking, fishing, skating, biking, hunting the range. AND I still find places unexplored. Local people have no clue as to the possibilities in this under rated mountain range. There is so much history and hidden gems to see!

@@PHARRAOH many parks and BLM land areas are being closed down because of people not staying on designated paths. It's unfortunate simply because of the amount of people trampling the natural landscape. You may not care, but the rest of the public suffers.

There, NO SUCH restrictions in my area. Check for yourself. The worlds not all doom and gloom sir, and like I said. Not communist state yet! Take your fight elsewhere. This is a drama free zone! I do more for this forest than most do for their entire family! Ask any ranger you find. They will tell you the same. Before you TRY talking down at someone, let your actions speak louder and join us for some clean ups, graffiti removal, maintenance around the crystal lake area. I post invites for them regularly. Or like most keyboard warriors, you'll not do the actual work, just try to bring others down. @2-old-Forthischet
