This is a great video! Not too many in depth Tuktut videos out there at the moment! Appreciate the details. Selfishly, would love a detailed tour of a Tuktut on a Maverick someday!

Thanks for the kind words! Definitely more Tuktut content to come, it's such a great platform. If we get a Maverick in here, I'll film it just for you ;D

Great video. I love my Yoho but with my Tacoma this would have been a great option if it had existed at the time of purchase!

Totally agree! It's hard to beat that extra leg room in the Yoho though..

You got to be kidding with the price of this camper. Really this much for a blank camper!

What’s a comparable camper for a lower cost?

ITS SO CLOSE to being perfect! Just needs an affordable air conditioner for us folks down in the south

With a power upgrade you could run a small, portable 12V A/C for a good part of the day. But I know how hot it can get down there so it might not be enough!

Please research mini splits. Amazingly efficient and robust.

Are there areas on the camper that have extra support components where you can drill into or areas off limits to put windows or vents in?
@JuniperOverland8 ай бұрын
No extra support areas but the main suggestion from Scout is do not cut into the side of the cab over portion (basically where the side logo is on the camper) for structural reasons. Everything else we've been able to mount or through bolt onto!

In a short bed Tacoma where the tie downs near the cab are hook on???I have the bed bolts but looks like the camper will sit exactly on them???
@JuniperOverland9 ай бұрын
Your right, the bed bolts would be under the front of the camper, so we either add hard-mount tie downs to the side of the bed, or bolt in our proprietary bracket into the bed that gives wider mounting points (often used on Four Wheel Campers)

Is good for a jeep gladiator??

It was designed with the Gladiator specifically in mind, so we'd say so!

is there a cabinet to hold a porta potti?
@JuniperOverland2 ай бұрын
Not one standard from Scout as the Tuktut is meant to be a DIYers camper. A cabinet could be built to fit just about anything you want!

It just hurts my brain that truck campers are so high for what you get. $16k for a blank camper, eeeek.
@JuniperOverland9 ай бұрын
If it's being compared to DIY costs, we totally agree, but not everyone has the skills or time for a project like that. So for the price to have a professionally-built, sealed, and warrantied camper...we'd say not bad.

I think you missed the Bear, Black Bear at 540 pounds using Total Composite build.
@JuniperOverland9 ай бұрын
They're definitely unique campers, but that base weight seems to be missing a few things that the Tuktut does include in their "shell" model. Also the dimensions are smaller than that of the Tuktut, so it would make sense that it weights a little less. I wonder if these campers are available for immediate purchase or if they're on a long lead time, made to order?
@reecealeck83148 ай бұрын
There must be a 55% profit margin at minimum for the camper to start out @ $16k. With all the leak issues many ppl r having on the scout forum the price tag is just too high
@JuniperOverland7 ай бұрын
Lol definitely not that kind of margin. Also we haven't had a single leak come through our shop in over a year and a half. Must be old information you're coming from
@kcsmiths8 ай бұрын
@2:48, so if you are a taller individual than the trucks I shouldn't buy are a Tacoma, Gladiator, Maverick or Ranger, really? odd statement
@JuniperOverland7 ай бұрын
Yes, if you're over 6'4", the camper and most mid-size trucks would probably be cramped for you. I know people shorter than that with the seat fully extended back on a Tacoma.

A fabric bed topper made from extruded aluminum is no where near the same as a fully enclosed slide in camper with insulated walls….
@MarioLuigi-vb3rp23 күн бұрын
@@JuniperOverland not the point. Your talking about what your consumer will spend. If a person is buying a maverick such as myself we are generally smart buyers. We buy a nice functional vehicle that can save money on gas so we look at what value we can get for our dollar. A slide in bare bones for 16k doesn’t make sense. Look at your comments they are saying well why buy this then when I can just buy a 15k fully functional and operational small tear drop or a small 12 ft towable camper. Your maverick consumer is different then your trd taco consumer that likes to blow 60k on a truck and be in debt for 7 years.
