This one is a tearjerker, in the sence that he made 4 snapshots of himself at different times to capture the best ones of himself before he died. They (the homonculi) were not failures, they were snapshots of him during his most important times so as to show -01 him as he is while in the organization - his best and his worst. And in the end, for 01 to realize that -11 left these as a way for him to have some sort of closure. A bitter-sweet way to say goodbye

Ooh, that would make for an interesting tale though! No matter how people try to shape or control him, he ends up still committing both acts of valor and some sort of atrocity (perhaps worse than the previous) due to inborn personality traits. This homunculus ends up trying to make ANOTHER homunulus, and it ends in tragic disaster and a lesson in why you shouldn’t try to groom people to be who they naturally aren’t, or something. I dunno. Lot of ways you could take a tale like that.

Now admittedly I don't know much about the battle tactics of civil war era soldiers, but leading a charge with a *regiment* (~1000 men during the civil war, probably cut down though from losses so say 400) to save a single civilian? Now that's anomalous! I think it's multilayered as Regiments are usually commanded by an O-6 or O-7, so if he was next in line he'd be, well, an O-5. The medal of honor was introduced just a few years earlier than it was given, so that fits.

Good example of what to abstain from while finding some meaning and harmonizing purposes for us as humane humans to be able to adjust with discernment. The problem in this case was the lack of proper grounding and stabilization for O5-11, good advice and good presence helps. Thus, he needed some sound good advice and transparency from the others in order to not over exagerrate and isolate as probably some things behind the veil made him to have some strange thoughts that leaded to strange decisions and conclusions that could be adjusted with proper support and understanding presence. That's why rules of solidarity exists without being too overly serious or rigid in a structure but rather open for debate and discussions + spontaneity truthful expression in order to find what is to be polarized and cleansed accordingly and what is to be purged completely(or as much as possible and recycled to other realms).
