I clicked on this while actively playing a game on the other monitor, and didnt even realize until 12 minutes in that its a small channel. The editing, the content, it all feels just as high quality as the huge channels making similar video essays. Keep up the solid work, its great.

Oh, yeah, absolutely - and I realise I don't wholly emphasise the sense of humour or fun of those episodes but it certainly is there in spades!

There's a warmth and calm pace to these first few seasons. Crepes of Wrath is a weird one, I remember hearing the 4 writers were basically just in a room with James L. Brooks and he provided the framework of the story while the writers pitched ideas essentially all in one session, a very different process to the way most episodes are written. Must agree with that other comment, the music was a little loud at 4:00 - Great vid tho!!

Thanks! And yeah, I'd agree, I really think it makes that period special. The Crepes Of Wrath is still an episode that I enjoy, and maybe it wouldn't seem so out of place if it were part of any other season other than the first.

I thought this was gonna be about how seasons 9-12ish were still quite good, but I certainly agree the first two seasons are super underrated.

@@DouglasRobson00 I look forward to watching it! I'll never understand how anyone could say the Simpsons died with The Principal and the Pauper when the very next episode, Lisa's Sax, is one of the all-time greats.

@necromanzer52 I personally feel like the narrative that has been crafted around the decline of the show and The Prinicipal And The Pauper is honestly a little disingenuous, considering that it was produced alongside many of the episodes in Seasons 8 and 9 and just aired before those episodes. Seasons 9-11 especially are incredibly solid and I'd put them alongside the Golden Age in terms of quality. And yeah, Lisa's Sax is a definite highlight.

@@DouglasRobson00 I don't think you can point to any specific moment as being when The Simpson 'died'. It just slowly got worse and worse over time. Personally, I gave up on it somewhere around season 18, but if I went back and rewatched season 12 or so, I'd probably see it with a more critical eye now, as an adult. Personally, I don't really even know what episodes are from what seasons. As a kid, I would always just watch whatever episode was on.
