Wonderful job explaining this, Joshua! I am now completely using TickTick, and your videos are certainly deepening my knowledge. Thank you!

Thank you for this video. I was confused between ticktick and notion (mostly due to notes) to start organising my life around. TickTick notes are more than enough for my purposes and saves me the trouble of setting up a notion task and notes databases.

Subscribed. You are one hell of a good teacher, well planned out and focus on purpose and value of Notes. QUESTION: is there a way to set the default text entry for a note to be by voice typing?

I've went through most of your videos and cannot chose the best option for my idea. I have a menu that I use and it's for 2 weeks (when I do groceries I change the list). I want to be able to place each meal in each day of the week but with some leeway - meaning I can change one day if we decide to go out for supper. What option in free TickTick would you use? I have the days of the week and the list of meals. Thanks! I love your videos. EDIT: Oh and I also need a space to park the used meals so I don't keep typing them again and again.

I don’t know if you’ve found your solution but I use Trello for a meal planning board! I just drag the recipes from the “recipe bank” to the day of the week (or 2 weeks) that I’m planning and I’m good to go! And when it’s time to restart the planning every two weeks, I just send the cards (recipes) home (to the main recipe bank list) and viola! 🤩 I love Trello mainly for this option because of the depth of info I can create in there BUT as I’m learning TickTick, I see how I can recreate the same thing here. It’s glorious! Hope this makes sense and could help.

8:00 Linking a note in a task description would be most useful if the information I need to do a task is extensive. Or maybe a procedure for a task that recurs but on no set schedule. Really thorough video! Thanks for making these! I didn't realize Notes vs Tasks list type is basically just a default for its items - good to know!

Another great video, thanks. I'm still in the exploration stage with TickTick. I notice that I couldn't drag to sort notes in a notes folder, very frustrating. So I clicked on the 'sort' button at the top and it only gives options to sort by time created/modified/title/tag (using Windows desktop app). Frustrating. I have a lot more freedom to sort using tasks.
@JoshuaBest2 жыл бұрын
You're right about not being able to manually sort notes. I never noticed that before. I wonder why not? Thanks for pointing that out.
@nancysocal16752 жыл бұрын
@@JoshuaBest You can McGyver it by doing a minor edit to whatever you want to pop to the top and set it to sort based on 'latest edit'. I used to do those kinds of workarounds but avoid as much as possible, nowadays. It would end up like working a sliding puzzle. Too stressful! I think I'll just stick to tasks. Thanks again for your reply!

You can always switch to Kanban view and sort by sections! That’s what I’ve started doing.

I've just started to look into TickTick and liking it so far. I plan to move out of Nozbe soon so I am looking for alternatives. Question about this Notes feature... what is your use case for them? How do you use them in your workflow?
@JoshuaBest2 жыл бұрын
I use notes whenever I have something for a project I want to remember, but it doesn't need to be completed. Usually reference material.

how come I can add notes to my calendar at certain times but I cant make them have a duration or make them re-occurring? I thought this was the solution to an issue I was having but no.

Can I add a time duration to notes? i.e. start date and end date
@JoshuaBest Жыл бұрын
It doesn't appear to me that you can put a duration on a Note. It seems you can only add a single date.

Any idea how secure the notes are? Also, is there any storage limit? Like how many photos I can attach or the number of notes etc? Thanks.
@JoshuaBest2 жыл бұрын
TickTick gives information about their security here: ticktick.com/about/security The number of attachments you can upload is based on a daily limit. Free users can only upload 1 attachment per day. Premium users can upload 99 attachments per day.
@thepeddler92262 жыл бұрын
@@JoshuaBest I had that problem one day when I was preparing for vacation and just copy/paste my 2nd attachment. It worked and I could see it clearly.

One more comment, or actually a question. In Todoist, I can enter Project notes. It appears that to do this in Tick Tick, I would create the List, then create notes under that List. Am I on the right track? I am so used to Todoist, but it appears that Tick Tick gives me so much more! Thanks for listening!
@JoshuaBest2 жыл бұрын
Yes, you have it right. I actually was just thinking it would be nice if you could enter list details, or project details, but you do have to create a "general" note or task under the list with those details if you want to.

Joshua, I converted a TickTick task to a note, but now I can not find it. Can you help me, please? or let me know where to email for help.
@JoshuaBest Жыл бұрын
When you convert a task to a note it should stay in the same list as it was when it was a task. So it should still be in the same place. If you can't find it, you might try the Search option. Or there is also an ALL smart list that you can enable to look at all notes and tasks.
