Exploring This Abandoned Mansion Owned By Ken Dodd, Thousands Of Pounds Worth Of Items Left Behind!

Please Note - this video was filmed back in April 2023 before the house was sold at auction. It has now been sold and completely ckeared out. The house was owned by Kenn Dodd but was not his family home. Please see further information below..
The legendary Sir Kenneth Arthur Dodd OBE was an English comedian, singer, and occasional actor. He was described as "the last great music hall entertainer", and was primarily known for his live stand-up performances. My good friend Ian Urbex Lost & Found told me of a house which belonged to Ken had been abandoned since his death in 2018. We decided to take a look on a recent road trip back in April 2023. Myself Ian & Dan from Abandoned UK couldn’t believe what we found in this incredible home which had absolutely everything left behind! There were also signs of decay everywhere which was very sad to see. Hope you enjoy this weeks video guys! 🙂

Ken Dodd was born and lived in the same house his entire life, it’s on Thomas Lane in Knotty Ash and his wife still lives there today. The reason I know……I grew up in Knotty Ash myself a few hundred yards away from Ken Dodd.

He could have owned it as an investment opportunity as a landlord it not uncommon for people to have property portfolios, but never set foot in the properties they own, he did not own this house though you can verify that with the Land registry of England.

Definitely not Ken Dodds house, a quick Web search would have confirmed this. His wife is still alive so it makes no sense why this would be left like this. I am fascinated by abandoned properties but often somethings don't ring true. In this one thing I was struck by was the fact there wasn't a spec of dust around the cigar that was lifted.

I find it so amazing and also quite sad in some ways that places like this are just abandoned just like somebody walked out and never returned as if they just dissappeared. You can tell that this place was once a lovely modern family home. Even pictures of family/relatives are still where they were placed by the owner/s..mysteriously intriguing!

Thank you for the respect that was shown in Kens house. This place should have a Blue Plaque and renoveated. Song writer, comedian, singer ( a chart hit) and many more accolades. I still watch an audience with Ken Dodd. I saw him live when i was a kid in South Devon, Paington. Even our late queen loved him. A great loss to us all and his pertner of many years.

Ken dodd did have a hideaway house in Shropshire he used to use as a stoping place according to the man you looked after it, but never lived there. It looks similar to this house ,but the house on Google has brickwork this house looks rendered.

I was going to say the same thing about the tv’s and the aerial, bloody pain those and I always ended up stripping the wires and using a metal coat hanger, much better signal. What a beautiful place and I’m amazed how it has managed to stay natural. 👍

I'm from Liverpool. Ken Dodd lived in Knotty Ash in Thomas Lane. He was born in the house and died their. His wife still lives in the property to this day. Ken Dodd did have a second house in Shropshire, Whitchurch back in the late 80's early 90's Which he abandoned after the tax court case. He stated during the court case that the house didn't even have the electricity connected. The house was used once in his diddymen programme back in the day. This house does look very similar and could be the one, great find guys, even if it isn't, it's still an amazing abandoned house guys

How ppl lived glam in the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s. I just loved it. The staircase balastrade indicates to me this house was built in the 1960’s. The original features still left in the bathrooms look 1960’s .

i met ken dodd with my stepdad back in the 1980s he was at a house in bham with frank carson,,he knew alot about engineiering and thats what my stepdads company did,very honest down to earth guy sad to see his old place left

This House shouldn't be in such bad condition after being empty for just 5 years. It must have been built on the cheap by Cowboy's. It's very doubtful it belonged to Ken Dodd with no visible references to his extensive Showbiz career.

I don't understand how this place hasn't been robbed of everything of value or taken over by local addicts, probably will be now it has been identified as an empty property that anyone can apparently just let themselves into and do a promotional video for thieves on youtube.

I recently stopped watching a certain US-based Urbex channel because they started click-baiting celebrity names & their faces on the thumbnails, claiming they owned the houses, with no evidence at all and often without even mentioning them in the actual video at all!! Hope you are not going that way! Good stuff as ever anyway,
