As a retired guy who doesn't have kids, it's easy for me to forget about reservations being needed for Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends. Those holidays bookend the family vacay season. You're in the same situation but much younger. 😊 I feel you about crowds. Take good care of yourself.

Ahhhh, Hwy 12. One of my favorite roads in Utah. Have been there several times on my Harley Road Glide, now want to go back on my Adventure Bike to see the back country. NEVER go on ANY holiday!!! Lol. Just don't do crowds like i used to. Thanks for the video, safe travels back home.

I have ridden 12 on my VSTROM in 2012, that was a thrill ride. We camped at Dead Calf Creek Campground for our base. We are planning on doing it again so your video was timely. Thanks to you and your brother for these videos, they are inspirational.

Get reservations! Except they do limit where and when you can go, and prevent you from exploring that shiny thing over there you just passed. I prefer to wing it, but sometimes committing to a specific time and place is totally worth it. The Rocky Mtn Roll, for instance. 😎

Been riding since I was a pup but recently purchased my first adventure bike. Watching your videos has me chomping at the bit too get out and experience the bdr’s and such. Hard part is finding people too commit too multiple day rides. Awesome you have a riding partner especially being siblings. Thanks for the video.

What an awesome ride. Thanks for taking us along. Have you ridden up in the Swell Area? Other than dealing with the sand there is some awesome riding. Yeah Capitol Reef is supposed to be the least visited Park in Utah. It didn't seem like that the time I was there either.

Memorial Day is the time to visit Yosemite in CA. School in CA isn't out yet. When I went it was mostly French nationals and those from the Asian countries. The falls were very full and the Rangers just their classes that weekend.

Looks like a great trip. I've done Burr trail a number of times and I've driven that highway through Escalante and Boulder a number of times. The highway just north of Escalante River and Calf Creek campground is an amazing road and amazing scenery. From the east side of Capitol Reef, up the switchbacks and on into Boulder is also a very unusual road and very scenic.

Great video. On a ride to Southern Utah from SoCal I don't like to get reservations, but alas, it is usually necessary in the summer. Scenic Hwy. 12 is an easy 3 or 4 day weekend for me. I literally just got back from there 2 weeks ago. We timed it perfectly for fall colors and little to no traffic and perfect weather. I've ridden Hwy 12 many times. It never gets old. Im also enjoying your short daily updates on your current cross-country ride. Happy trails.

Awesome series across Utah. Did the Cascades this August with my wife on our Goldwing DCT tour, and for sure want to ride Utah in 2024. Nice to see Gary out there with you. I was eastbound on the Burr Trail on Saturday of Memorial Day weekend this year. I started in Green River on Saturday and ended up at the Ticaboo Lodge. This area is motorcycle nirvana!

Utah by motorcycle is going on my bucket list for sure! Gotta Get Reservations and not go during Memorial Day weekend :D I've been to the St. George and Red Cliffs area (have family there) and of course Moab and Salt Lake City but by car just driving through to get to other states. Gotta slow down next time and enjoy the views! Very nice video as always. Such a comfort to watch them on a rainy day :)
