Exploring Watson Lake - Northshore Hike & Aerial Tour | Prescott, Arizona

Watson Lake, Arizona is considered one of the most scenic lakes within the state. Miles of coastal hiking trails surrounding the Granite Dell rock formations, which have become a symbol of Prescott (located just 4 miles away). In this video we will explore a portion of the North Shore shore trail which is 1.4 miles roundtrip with an elevation gain of 180 feet. There is a $3 entrance fee per vehicle to enter Watson Lake Park.
The trailhead can be found at the North Shore Boat Ramp Parking Lot. As you walk amongst these granite boulders you will have plenty of photo opportunities of this lake. This man-made lake (created April 1915) has a maximum depth of 50 feet and is a popular spot for anglers to catch trout, bass, bluegill and catfish. Kayakers favor Watson lake due to the numerous rocky coves and outcroppings you can explore while on the water. Although the water looks inviting, swimming at Watson is prohibited.

This looks amazing. I hope you are having a good time in Arizona. I went to Indianapolis several days ago to watch the total solar eclipse and it is the coolest thing I have ever seen.

Thank you Mark! Watson Lake sure is impressive. Next time I have to go kayaking around the lake. The solar eclipse was one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen! We had about 2 min of totality where I am in Ohio. Hope you are doing well.
