Chinese New Year stamps have a very special place in my heat and collection! The first stamp I ever bought for the purpose of collection was the Canadian 2020 Year of the Rat stamp. I was born in 1996 and am therefore the year of the rat. I originally just bought the stamp to have because it was my animal but then realized how beautiful and unique stamps are and the rest is history ☺️ 🐀 ❤️

Maybe your most beautiful and evocative episode. Also, I’m delighted to see more Asian stamps. The world leading stamp company Stanley Gibbons estimates that 2 of 3 stamp collectors live in Asia - Japan, Korea, India, China, Hong Kong, etc. all have strong traditions in philately. And since Hong Kong, Singapore , and Macau are all in the top 5 of the most densely populated areas in the world, apartments rather than large homes are most common. So, stamp collecting is the perfect hobby as the entire world can fit on a single bookshelf!

I have a 2019 Year of the Pig that issued by Philippines and it is the current most expensive stamp by its denomination (which is cost Php 200) and it is rare that only 4000 copies were printed. My zodiac is Pig so it is my gift to myself. Looks like a coincidence!! Year of the Pig my birthyear was 2007 and the stamp was issued in 2018 but for 2019 so it became my most favorite stamp!!

@@ExploringStamps You should buy!! Go here in the Philippines to buy it exclusively like it is your souvenir in the Philippines when you go here. Uhm when i buy these stamps i see that only 10 or 15 copies were spread in every post offices, think so 🤔🤔. So quicky buy before it's gone!! Buy in the Manila Central Post Office, the most oldest post office in the Philippines and one of the National Treasure Building in the Philippines. This is were Local Stamp Exhibit happens and releasing some new stamps and we have a exhibit on November to celebrate the National Stamp Collecting Month. If you want to buy that stamp, go to the Manila Central Post Office then go to Philatelic Counter but that is where collectors buy and when it was newly release, they buy quickly so beware!! But if they go out of stock, go in Caloocan North Post Office, we have some stock of it because i buy at that post office. Caloocan North Post Office can be found in North Caloocan City Hall and ask where is the post office and they will help you to find it. When i buy this stamp, this was my first time to go in a post office!! 🤓🤓😀😀🤗🤗🤗

I was always fascinated by the Chinese zodiac and I expected to learn more about them when I married a Taiwanese. Surprisingly, he believes in the western zodiac. Based on people's birth month, he can know a lot about someone's personality. And he is often right!

A Rooster here. As always enjoy watching your cannel since learning about its existence weeks ago. I do not have too many Chinese Zodiac stamps ... I did buy from my trip to Bhutan and a Visit to the Thimphu GPO back in May 2019, and years earlier I had souvenir sheets from the USA. Apart from these, should have a few more. But my interest is invigorated now on this theme. And with contacts in the USA, Singapore, Hong Kong I will keep an eye on such issues.

I LOVE THIS LATEST VIDEO. Learned so much more of China and its stamps. Never knew about that story of their Zodiac animals and dragon. More great info I can use to pursue collecting Chinese stamps. I was told in grade school I am a PIG, which offended me at first, then learned that in China it means Metal Pigs (1971) are peace-loving, trustful, honest, and sincere. :)

I had a golden monkey once. I remember I got it in a mystery bag from a stamp shop in New York. I pulled it aside because I liked the art work. I later lost it (either threw it away or put it in my bin of misc. stamps). I hope I find it again one day.

Graham!! My classmates called my stamp tweezer a "tiyani", a tweezer used in pulling hair in underarms 😒😒😒 but the real meaning of the tiyani was a tweezer but it is rarely to see a stamp tweezers so it has a different meaning
